In mcgr defense, those ankle twists are horrible. I have a very annoying predisposition to twisted everything especially ankles due to hyperlax and other medical stuff, so i sometimes get a badly twisted ankle just walking. And believe me even when you're near blackout drunk, walking a mile with a twisted ankle is agony.
I used to fight, just amateur, was in boarding school so after dinner it was either 2h nightly dojo with tai boxing vice champ of france as coach or library. So obviously dojo, we did tournaments by age (the 14yo, the 15yo etc) and thanks to my 8y of karate i was easily winning all of them, especially as i trqined hard with the tai boxer and nobody my age had ever done martial arts. I used to crush them just with one arm or leg kicks tho i'd get destroyed by some of the older and one younger no problem, each week i d win cause there really wasn't a contender.
But one day my ankle just took a break for jhalf a sec, stopped supporting my weight, and it twisted. Hurt, but i was dumb enough to walk it off, finished the fight without kicks or legwork, won the next by immediately going to the ground and guillotine, took 20 sec, but the final was against a guy who was starting to get better.
He was good enough to evade my tackles, and saw i couldn't walk or shuffle fast so started darting back and forth, i tried to chase him once and then my ankle just completely twisted, it was pure agony.
I deserved to win this one cause honestly i ko'd myself on that one, i wasn't able to stand up alone for days, a toddler could have finished me off
I don't have much love for mc g but i really feel that ankle, ok he was getting pummeled anyway but once that ankle gave he had as much of a shot at winning then he did against kabib, that shot being a big fat zero lol

In the first 2 minutes Conor was the better guy but man, he loves to get a proper beating when he is on his back. He was bleeding out of his mouth and ear, sitting there with a broken ankle.
