When you put the load at 6500W why did it start giving dark exhaust?

The diesel runs @1800 rpm The gas engine runs @ 3600 rpm

No go between gas and Diesel genSets

At best you will get 1/2 the volts

You are a generator Jedi sir! Lol! I found your channel while searching for guidance in adjusting a new AVR for my old 5000w Husky. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching and the education that’s come with it.

Harbour freight has a lot of cheap stuff that works but they also have a lot of Chinese junk that's not worth buying. I stay away from thier power tools or the air tools they just don't last .

I don't get any resistance readings on leg 1 or 2 of my firman generator when I isolated the connections like you did. What does this mean?

Maybe it will be less of a Hassle and order Correct Stator

Need to do some more of these units. I’m seeing more and more on the marketplace. I’ve been through the engines completely on a few and they are fantastic. Just not much info out on the market for them. Engines are Yanmar L100 clones

Power light is off when 120v plug is int fault but 240 is still hot. Not safe.

Also by passing any safety device on a machine is automatic OSHA violation. Lawyers are going to have a field day that you filmed bypassing the localized breakers.

My generator for home use is an old light tower. 1800 rpm Kubota D905 water cooled 3 cylinder, coupled to a Baldor 6kw generator. With the onboard 40 gallon diesel tank, it can run for a week or so. Diesel is definitely the way to go.

What is different between a brushed stator, and a capacitor stator? My Generac XG 8000E was available with the capacitor, or an AVR according to the schematic. Did the DC terminals work?

with the way all that rust was on that from and what looked like a run pattern from one point to another kindve got me wondering if some sort of corrosive or something of that nature has been spilled on that frame in that area because it was all centralized in one area of the frame

Help me understand something here. I know that breakers can handle 125% of load on a continuous load. Perhaps they used a 25 amp instead of a 30 amp to assure that WITH the continuous load it would stay below the 30 amp rating of the stator. Is this an issue with wiring the 120v outlet around it's provided circuit breaker and the lesser rating amps of the replacement stator?

Hello James. I have an Aurora enclosed generator with that same engine on it as well as an old Sears garden tractor with a Yanmar clone 11hp diesel engine that I bought new for $380.00 Canadian. Both are strong running engines but the one in the generator is a higher quality unit and has less diesel engine knock. My Aurora generator uses the same AVR set up as you installed and I feel this is much better than a capacitor unit even though there are brushes involved. The brushes are running at fairly low current so they should last a good long time and they are easily replaceable. Both my engines have over 100 hours on them without any mechanical issues. My generator has a remote start/stop transmitter that uses a little power constantly so I keep a battery maintainer on it. It's been very handy in extended power outages and uses half the fuel that my neighbours gas Champion uses. Also the diesel fuel can sit for ever and not go bad. I put fuel conditioner in every jerry can winter and summer.
