King Kong's roar in King vs Godzilla is one of my favorite as well as King Kong Escapes!!! That particular roar is used as stock sound effects from other Toho monsters!!!

I find it super interesting that American films focused way more on combining and editing real animal sounds where the Japanese films edited other sounds from inanimate objects. Kind of reflects the two takes on the kaiju genres: Americans see them as big animals that can be killed with the right hunter, but the Japanese see them as unnatural, alien, or god-like that have such little connection to our world, you tend to need something equally alien or advanced to conquer them, or cannot conquer them at all.

I like 1976 roar the most. I’m guessing they are using elephant sounds for the roars. Yes, they don’t just trumpet. I also like the 2017 and 2021 roars just as much.

In my opinion the 2021 kong has the best roar mainly cuz it sound like a remade roar of the 76 which is also a great sounding roar
