Demands, in the comments, to give Ukraine any system they ask for are missing the reason we have Technology Transfer and Foreign Military Sales oversight. Ukraine's future is far from certain. We don't know if they end up in a Russian satellite government, like Hungary, again. Then what happens to all this sensitive equipment ?

You forgot to mention that the Russian SU35 has a longer range radar and longer range AA missiles than the F16.

What is strange about the Ukrainian F-16s is how much is written and talked about in the media and they are nowhere to be found, except for those mockups at the presentation, one flyover over Odessa, one crash due to alleged pilot error and one obvious lie about a successful downing Su-34, they are nowhere to be found.

Putin can't draw red lines about equipment being provided to Ukraine while he takes equipment and soldiers from other countries. Call his bluff. He's a bully and like all dictators his position is tenuous. Nobody in Russia wants to open the Nuclear weapon door and neither do Russia's allies. Putin isn't insane but he is smart enough to understand Western leaders would err on the side of caution.

kids all over the world, remember these trillion dollar Nazi war toys are very susceptible to simple acts of sabotage, like placing pebbles on the runway and having a good laugh when the plane blows up as rocks go into thru the air intakes. cuz crap the west makes is designed by people with the brain wattage and morals of an Elon Musk, managed by Ken Lay of Enron and financed by Donald Trump.

I'm not convinced Ukraine will be too happy about their F16s capabilities being made public on here. People will argue the ruzzians already know these details, but why make their job easier? 🤔

Whilst this was very interesting especially to those military obsessive persons, both protagonist and antagonist, I wonder why so much potential information is given out in public media.

I really wish that both Ukraine, US air force and defense contractors would be more secretive.

Now, that North Korea, being not Russia has entered the invasion of Ukraine, both in principle and in fact even in the smallest manner, NATO and the United States should feel obliged and at risk to put technical, military weapons and latest equipment (offensive and defensive) to end this war quickly before the invasion escalates in a global mess.

Lastly, I would hope that more intelligent persons than me are integrating and making full use of AI, game theory, strategic, tactical, weapons defense/offense and threat assessment and future development.

Wow! Highly interesting. Thank you. Let's pray Trump loses the election and Ukraine will be able to use their capabilities and, most of all, that the leadership (PM's) in the West finally cease to be little boys bullied by a socipathic supercriminal called Vlad the Invader. Who would have thought that George Orwell's 1984 would be realised by a collusion between a lunatic who wants to turn the USA into a kind of Russia to stay out of jail, a sociapthic failed spy who wants to be Catharina the Great, and a genius BEV producer who was slighted by an octogenarian who was a slave to ICE car promoting unions?

Ukraine's program is what was decided on, as a package, right after the war started. Ukraine will be rebuilt / developed on an Israeli model. Meaning, with or without NATO, Ukraine will become an independent security state. Working directly with US contractors, Ukraine will be able to develop custom solutions... much like Israel does with their F35s.

Saying that Russia has 809 fighter jets isn't exactly accurate
The real question is how many fighter jets does Russia have that can actually fly
A fighter jet requires 3 hours of maintenance for every hour of flight and sanctions deny Russia the parts that it needs to do that maintenance
Which leaves them two options
Either they can cannibalize aircraft to keep others flying or they can buy the sanctioned parts that they need through 3rd parties at a considerable mark up

The F16s weren't considered because of "escalation" first and only. Training and maintenance could have happened at any time after Feb 22. Biden and his NSC are cowards.
Biden has also blocked contract personnel from going into Ukraine to provide the depth needed for maintenance. Strange, neither Iran and now apparently North Korea don't have that issue, ie "escalation".

While the airframe of the F-16 is showing its age, it systems have been updated again and again. The only disadvantage is that it isn't stealth, apart from that it still is a very potent weapon system. Because the main weapon of the F-16 isn't its air frame, but what is hanging from those pylons.

The collective technology from the Western Powers plus the ability to be innovative by Ukrainian experts in military matters are generally superior to anything that the Russians can muster. Moreover and in most cases, quality beats quantity and this is where the Ukrainians have a distinct advantage over the Russians. 💪💪💪

Impressive new capablities for the Ukrainian F-16s! Of course the F-16 is the way to go for Ukraine, because the old Soviet planes have limited parts and weapons and no chance to upgrade their system and no chance to effectively use western weapons.
The F-16 on the other hand have every tools available for the ukrainians on the condition the americans dont block delivering them. However it would be stupid to block effective weapons for these planes when there has been a decision to deliver up to 85 planes to them.
About the new ukrainian pilots trained to operate the F-16s and all these systems in a short time shows the challenge for those young men! They say pilots flying the old Soviet planes are not suited to fly the F-16 and its much better to start from scratch with newly educated F-16 pilots from basic. So there will be a vulnerability in F-16 operations in the beginning! Experience says most get shot down in the first 10 missions, so pilots are sent to do their first 10 missions at Red Flag, or similar to gain real world experience. Hopefully the new Ukrainian pilots will get enough traning to be very good and safe pilots!
