I followed the tutorial pretty easily! However once I cut my strings at the end and pulled on the heart, they both just came apart. What did I do wrong?

I love how simple u have made this! My teenage daughter loves doing this crocheting and I’ve taking a keen interest in this too simply bcuz it’s challenging! But u make it look so easy I love it! I know it sounds weird and strange but hey it’s great to learn new things, right?!
