There us nothing wrong with this repair. The metal arc'd. Was hot enough to melt the both joints to join as one. The other unworked portion may fail but not them joints. The weld is stronder than the shaft. That is fact for the naysayers.

Some parts like shafts, crankshafts, axles should never be welded together... it's not safe where too much load or stress is applicable...no matter how good a joint or a weld is....

Things like these are why i wish to never go to these countries. These kinds of shoddy unsafe repairs can get people killed. 😬
