I saw a lot of Kareem’s games. His skyhook was rearly blocked. He could get that shot off over anyone at anytime, even when he was old. However, his post up wasn’t as effective as Shaq because Kareem missed a lot. If Shaq got the ball down low he’d dunk in your face and almost never miss. Plus he might injure you. Anyway I think guys like Wemby and Chet could do the skyhook. Can’t really think of anyone with the power of Shaq today.
ОтветитьWe need more centers like this we need to bring the paint game back it's poetry in motion.
ОтветитьWilt blocked it twice in a row!
ОтветитьWe may just be entering a new era of the unstoppable Hook Shot in NBA... say hello to Zach Edey
ОтветитьThe skyhook itself is not a very efficient shot; Kareem’s skyhook was efficient, yes because he was good at it and it was part of his arsenal to reach an unbelievable career FG% of 55.9%.
But the Skyhook itself is very difficult to sink compared to a jumpshot.
Who came to this after kyrie skyhook over jokic at the buzzer
ОтветитьYes, it was.
ОтветитьMy number one talking point with my grandson, about basketball, would be Wilt Chamberlain or Larry Bird, not Kareem, or his sky hook, even though it was a beautiful and deadly, but not completely unstoppable, shot. Wilt, at the end of his career and after knee repair surgery, blocked it several times, and I believe three in a row in one playoff game and during the same Lakers' possession. That wasn't shown here. Kareem was the leading, career total scorer, for a long time, but not the leading, per game scorer, by any means. He played over 20 years.
ОтветитьI practice hooks 🪝 😂 only one I ever see shooting em
ОтветитьYou make it sound like the Skyhook is to Basketball what Valyrian Steel is to Game of Thrones 😆
Ответить**was the leading nba scorer of all time . Lebron king James is the leading nba scorer
ОтветитьI remember mastering the skyhook on my nerf basketball hoop jumping off one foot and releasing through the wrist. My brother couldn’t stop me and he’d cry every time we played.
ОтветитьAnd 2 more games, LeBron will pass his scoring list
ОтветитьVery good thorough analysis!
ОтветитьThis has to be Patrick Bet David narrating.
ОтветитьI wonder if it is so hard to replicate due to hand size. Kareem had huge hands.
ОтветитьIt goes Kareem, majic and then Xavier Simpson for skyhooks lol!
ОтветитьThe problem with all these wannabe nerds comparing players from them to today's players is that they don't take into consideration that the "old school" player would also be getting today's technology, knowledge of the game, knowledge of how and what to eat and all the other extra stuff modern players get (psychologists and whatever else). They just think they'd be the exact same player, that's not how it would work.
Ответитьwhy do you say Kareem's 7ft 2 height is questionable 🤔🤔
ОтветитьJesus Loves you and wants you to accept him as your Lord and saviour
ОтветитьIt was unblock-able
Ответитьmy apologies but the defenders seem so slow! I do not think it compares to modern day defense. A lot in the past had a job on top of playing basketball. How many soldiers did they really have? Spartans!
ОтветитьDefense was so poor. On 4.45 lol that is insanely bad
ОтветитьI saw Bill Willoughby (Rockets) and George Johnson (Spurs) each block Kareem's skyhook.
ОтветитьSky hook
Ответитьtheres an interview where he explains why noone using the hook shot anymore. its all about the shooting quality todays players have from beyond the arc. no need for the hookshot, when you either shoot threes on 40%+ or iso into the zone for a layup. in the same interview he also mocks about the shooting percentage of nowadays players, cos in his opinion the percentages from inside the paint is rendering any 3p% ridiculous
Ответитьimagine kareem coming back today in his prime and started perfecting a 3pt skyhook ahhaha
ОтветитьKareem's skyhook at times has a fade away.
Ответитьnobody gives a damn about your fantasies!
ОтветитьYea he did it over and over again. Because nobody could stop it! If it works don't fix it!
ОтветитьSkyhook and underhand free throw. Next 7 footer that can do both will be a superstar
ОтветитьWhen the term "unstoppable" is usually used it refers to the ability of a hook shooter to get the shot off, not whether it went in a lot. One of the greatest practitioners of the hook was a two time leading scorer in the Big Ten and he told me that in the Big Ten, he NEVER got the shot blocked. Many reasons especially since you are on the move, but once the left foot is planted, or right foot for a lefty, its all over.
ОтветитьThe other thing, is it kept him from having to physically fight for every bucket.
ОтветитьIm named after that legend
ОтветитьKareem is the 🐐
ОтветитьShould do a dream shake and jordan fadeaway vid
ОтветитьWilt blocked it !
ОтветитьMy daddy makes a pretty unstoppable skyhook
ОтветитьWhen I played in school and semi pro, I used this shot many times!!!
Ответитьthis video had a negative under tone
Ответить😂Giannis should learn this technique
ОтветитьIm 35 and I still think the skyhook looks stupid af lol
ОтветитьThe short answer: Yes.
The long answer: Yeeeeeeeesssss.
You know it's coming and you can't do anything about it.
ОтветитьKareem has brought the Mikan Hookshot to Omega level
Ответитьshow this video to joel embiid!
ОтветитьKareem played against more hall of famers at his position than anyone in nba histoty.
Ответить
