ОтветитьI feel like the dumplings were a lil sacrilege so the chefs were a bit weirded out by the taste. Which is why he gave him 45 points. 😂
He added scallop, prawn, duck, ginger, garlic, a mixture of vegetables (I think i saw red bell pepper and wood ear mushroom?), lemon juice and corriander.
You dim sum you lose some.

ОтветитьCuisine he doesn't have a lot of experience with. He recognizes the masters of this cuisine and puts his nose to the grindstone to bring the same level of excellence he displays in his restaurants. One more reason to respect the Hell out of this master.

ОтветитьI think Gordon's dish would've been great if he tinkered with the recipe. Dim Sum is like an art and balance of flavours and textures.
Like the rice flour pastry for example can't be too thick or it's just gloopy and can't be too thin or it'll fall apart. It also has to be steamed enough. Too long you'll be making the customers waiting... Too short and it won't be cooked.
What make Gordon different from other celebrity chef is he is legit proffesional trained chef first, and tv personality next.
He trained under Marco Pierre white, build a Michellin star restaurant and after that , then he goes to show business.
That's why he know to respect other professional kitchen
