This HDMI Mod Makes The PlayStation 2 Look GORGEOUS!

Wish It was more affordable. My PS2 was only $25 CAD so I don't how I feel about paying that much more.

The non lead solder is a “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” moment. The solder doesn’t last and so more electronics just end up trashed quicker… Creating more trash and non compostables than if they just left the lead in.

I love playng on CRT, it's better than 4K for me if we talk about old consoles because even the graphics and the 2d textures on crt looks amazing <333

So they intentionally crippled the software so that they can sell the non-crippled version?
Regardless, I can't imagine paying anywhere near this much just to play my PS2 in slightly better resolution.

The fact that people are spending the time and money to produce components like this for old consoles is amazing. I’ll probably never get around to it on my PS2 but to be able to game on HDMI without any external devices is amazing. Yes it’s expensive but the fact this even exists in such a polished form? These kids complaining about $120 don’t know how good they have it 😂 and I’m sure if it was $190 without a cheaper feature locked version they’d still be complaining….what is it supposed to be, free? ?

Even without the extra ribbon cable, if you had spare PATA cables, you could cut out a section of them for some nice neat cabling....though it could be a smidge of a pain preparing it.

so is the mod with the shiney strip or half shiny strip as you have shown both models. Please clarify what you are showing here.

hdmi mod = an upscaler of 480p resolution (some tools allow force 720p on ps2 with orribble framerate or black board)

190 is a lot and you still have to add your own wires is it really that cost restricting to make the flexible pcb reach all the pads without having to bend it or add jumpers

Just got mine installed and... gah I can't find settings that don't look like a$$. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations, since Dreamcast and OG Xbox look great on modern displays. 480i is just straight garbage when not on a CRT. :-/

I'm new to this but, curious. What are differences with this set-up over just buying a RCA to HDMI Converter for less than $20.00?

Looks like a lot of effort for results inferior to pcsx2 with upscaling. Also much pricier.

Console modded has gotten a little slimy. I can’t believe they locked out higher resolutions.

this is neat... but pointless.. I built a pc inside an old fat shell. it boots right into pcx2 and functions just like a native ps2 it uses the disks and memory cards too. it has Bluetooth so you can hook up any controller to it... my usual go to is the ds4.

just buy a crt haha xD
