Roots of the English names of the days of the week
1. Monday - Moon's day
2. Tuesday- the Roman God of war Mars ( after whom the planet Mars and the month of March is named) was adopted in Scandinavian mythology as the warlord Tiu.
3. Wednesday - the Roman God Mercury was adopted in Scandinavian mythology as the God Woden.
4. Thursday- like the Roman God Jupiter the Norse God Thor was the thunder God
5. Friday- like Roman goddess Venus the Scandinavian goddess Freyja was the Goddess of love.
6. Saturday- Saturn's day
7. Sunday - Sun's day

One question, when you sorted the celestial body based on their speed slowest to fastest ... what speed are we talking about here ?

Sequence is derived from Orbit velocity or Revolution around the axis?
Any which way, how come Sun is at Centre in the Sequence?

It is fine to know weekdays are named as per hora.
My question is 'How do we decipher it is Hora of Saturn at sunrise, or Hora of Sun at sunrise?'
There must been time when days were nameless. And then came astrology to settle the issue. In short how do we say Sunday is Sunday not Monday or Saturday? Moon is proof of full Moon day. What measures Sunday?

there is one problem in this statement is that the week starts with Sunday and ends with Saturday which means Sunday is before Saturday not before. at least know your facts before you speak your non sence.

Without giving a single quotation from shrimat bhagwatam ur giving verdict that 7 days of week is given by india. Nowadays our country is a hub of fake, unscientific, illogical news. Stop giving slow poison in the name of religion and culture.

Word hour comes from Greek hora which originally comes from word ahoratra

Ancient Indian book- Surya siddhanta
1. Arrange the celestial bodies visible to naked eye from slowest to fastest
Sequence- Shani, guru, mangal, Ravi, shukr, buddh, som
2. Make a list of hours of day
3. Start assigning each hour to each
Grah as per sequence when you reach bottom carry over to next line.
4. Grah that gets the first hour of day is called the Dinpati
5. Deity of that grah becomes deity of day.
This is the secret of sequence of week days.

Why is mangalvar called tuesday?
Out of India migrations happened days went too and got dubbed after corresponding local deities.
Greeks, romans, Germanic tribes , anglo saxons and finally the English. Names were born.
Indian astronomers divided the day into 30 muhurtas where does the 24 hour comes from ?
That's what Greeks gave?
Srimad Bhagavad talks of ancient times when days were divided into 24 parts, hora called the 24th part of day.

Hats off to you Prachyam team!!🤝

Suryasidhanta is dated only to the 5th century AD.The oldest dating for it is 6th century BC.The Babylonian conception of the week is much older than that ,the earliest evidence of such a usage being about 2100 BC(Agreed that the connection is weak).Nevertheless, the Jews have been observing the 7 days starting with Sunday and ending on Saturday as early as 900BC.
I really believed the content of your video untill you said the out of India migration theory without even making mention of the fact that this is not ,atleast as of now,the currently held view in the academic world. This promoted me to doubt all of your claims and thus led to the conclusion that all of your sources, even the Suryasidhanta are relatively new compared to the much ancient practices originating in the middle East

This doesn't make sense. First, the order of the seven planets (of which two are not planets) is not correct (based on their speed of revolution around the sky). Also to assume that one hour is dedicated to one of them, in that order doesn't have a logic or rationale.
