Alan Person's Project "Old And Wise" is also unforgettable.
Ответитьthe Zombies voice.....
Ответитьbeautiful voice
ОтветитьStunning.
ОтветитьVery v e l v e t y voice...sooo unique & perfect for this song!
Ответить' you look to me like mr orgement'
Ответитьvery cool...the version i love most! As cool as astrud gilberto's ''cozy ambience'' voice. My only complaint was the boring long interlude. I mean, would that be necessary? there must be an edited version...hoping i could find one.
Ответитьnice string section mid-way through! crazy!
ОтветитьMates the likes of Nick Drake when it comes to sensitivity.
ОтветитьBest version of this song I´ve ever heard by the norwegian band Turns from their album Turns Out. Find it on Spotify. Highly recommended!
ОтветитьTim Hardin song..
ОтветитьIt would be interesting to know what the great Tim Hardin would have made of this wonderful version of his song.
Ответитьamazing
ОтветитьSooo bossa nova! Love it!
ОтветитьFor more of this magical intimacy, you may try Harry Nilsson's Without Her.
Ответитьdont rate the song its a bit shallow but thats me
ОтветитьSounds just Like Gentle Giant ..In fact I read he appeared with them in 1972 ..loving it!
ОтветитьHatstikke gooed
ОтветитьBravo !
ОтветитьWho else is here from eevee beats???
ОтветитьSolo and so good.
ОтветитьOof, where is my lady.
ОтветитьStrange to listen to my guitar playing at the beginning, must have done this in 69 or thereabouts so 50 years ago.
It seems like yesterday, drinking pint after pint at the pub with Colin then going in the studio and finally using an old beaten up nylon string guitar abandoned by some musician as Colin preferred the sound to mine. I don't really like my playing here, and the tempo's a bit fast for my taste, but the string arrangement is fabulous, those would have probably been guys from the London Symphony Orchestra.
Funnily enough I'm working on a cover right now in my own home studio, slower tempo and more laid back. I'll post here when I'm done if that's possible.
Absolutely awesome. My first true love in college (could it be in "73?) turned me on to One More Year and of course I loved the Zombies to death back in that "Time of the Season".
Wow just wow....
Going back to 1964, when I first heard Colin Blunstone' s vocal on The Zombies hit "She's Not There", he has been one of my favorite vocalists. This is my favorite recording of Tim Hardin's song.
ОтветитьThere is a similarity between Colin Blunstone and Labi Siffre who was popular in the 70s. Noticeable on the ballads.
ОтветитьLindo
Ответитьcolin's voice is so varied he could sing jazz, bossa nova, i wonder if he could sing counter tenor repetoire. the violins are beautiful.
ОтветитьNIce bossa nova beat with that classical guitar... Astrude Gilberto would love it. Thanks for Tim Hardin's incredible writing and soulful singing. Good job Colin; and I don't usually like covers of Hardin...nice!!!
ОтветитьJeff Buckley liked Colin. 😎
ОтветитьSensitive version with wonderful string arrangement of the Tim Hardin classic by the former singer of 'Sixties innovators The Zombies.
Ответитьcollin has one of the best voices, for me the zombies its a total underated band
Ответить
You look to me like misty roses
Too soft to touch
But too lovely to leave alone
If I could be like misty roses
I love you much
You're too lovely to leave alone
Flowers often cry
But too late to find
That their beauty has been lost
With their peace of mind
You look to me like love forever
Too good to last
But too lovely not to try
If I believe in love forever
I'd forget the past
You're too lovely
Not to try
Reminds me of Scott Walker. Lovely song.
ОтветитьI wish I could have the sheet music for the orchestral arrangement! I would really love to play it, but I can’t find any info.
ОтветитьWhew ..
ОтветитьI have never heard this amazing song before and I love music of most kinds and have been around over 6 decades. What a gorgeous sound. Colin’s voice is just special.
ОтветитьThis is so beautiful with the guitar and Colin singing with it perfectly. Not sure I really like the quartet in the middle...for me it doesn't fit into the scheme of the song(just my opinion) But it still is a wonderful song none-the-less. :)
ОтветитьI love this song. It was covered by a lot of artists (The Youngbloods, Johnny Mathis, Peggy Lee, Astrud Gilberto...) but to me this is the most pure version after Tim Hardin's original. Thanks for this.
ОтветитьThis is the most obscure arrangement, but such intact piece of orchestral brilliance that has ever graced my 43 years of placing myself in musical history . Thank You!
Ответитьbeautiful voice
ОтветитьAmazing voice - Tim Hardin song?
