Crispy Pork Belly Recipe - Oven Roasted | Simple & Quick Recipe

There are many Crispy Pork Recipes but usually, the wait time is too long or too much-wasted salt is used in the process. I'm always finding ways to try to make something efficient without compromising on quality, here's a simple fast and easy oven roast Crispy Pork Belly recipe, you can try at home. Better than takeout as the meat will be juicy and the skin super crispy.

Prep - 5 mins
Chillout - 1 hour
Cook - 1 hour and 15 minutes

Ingredients:
800g to 1.2kgs of Pork Belly
Pinch of Bicarb Soda

The Seasoning Pork Rub:
1 tsp of Salt
1 tsp of Black Pepper
1 tbsp of Five Spice
1 tbsp of Cooking Rice Wine

For the Skin after taking out of the Fridge:
Pinch of Salt
1 tsp of Canola Oil

Method:
1. Mix dry rub together
2. Put foil on a baking tray. Lay pork belly on a tray skin side up and using a sharp steak knife, pierce pork skin as much as possible but don't go through to the meaty part.
3. Flip the pork belly skin side down onto the tray and rub the Seasoning Mix onto the pork.
4. Flip pork again skin side up, now put half TSP of Bicarb Soda everywhere on the skin and rub in 1 tbsp of Salt.
5. Place pork in the fridge for 1 hour for the moisture to be released from the pork skin. If you got time, even longer the better.
6. When it is about 45 minutes, pre-heat the oven to 200c or 392f.
7. When 1 hour, take the pork out of the fridge, you'll see a lot of moisture on the surface of the pork belly skin, using a paper towel or tissue, wipe it off along with the salt and Bicarb that was on the skin.
8. Place pork between a cooking rack, then rub 1 tsp of oil and sprinkle salt on the skin.
9. Place the tray of pork belly in the oven and cook for 1 hour.
10. After an hour, change the oven mode to Grill to make the skin crispy for 15 minutes or till the skin is crispy to liking.
11. Once the skin is crispy, take it out of the oven, and let it rest for 5 minutes. If you got a thermostat- check if the inside is cooked at 73 c or 163 f.
12. With a super sharp knife, carefully cut the pork belly into pieces. Placing the skin side down on a chopping board makes it easier to get perfect cuts.
13. ENJOY with rice/noodles/banh mi/ or just on its own with some chilli oil, sambal, kewpie or hoisin sauce :).
