Do you speak slovene, Ivan?
Ответить"The true fortune to make in The Gate is made by those who service those cut throat merchants. The wagonmasters and warehousers can demand a premium from the hustlers in a hurry to get a deal done. My pa runs a crew of long shoremen that makes a mint unloading the unexpected ships that have to rent a pier. My aunt owns a laundry, washing the travel clothes of caravaners for the most leisurely living a laborer could hope for. Meself, I'm a marine pilot paid a small fortune to row out to the incoming ships and guide them to port. What I make on the side with aiding the smugglers is nice too."
If my only character I've played in this setting could be boiled down into a quote.
Imagine listening to this in a mental hospital.
ОтветитьOmg, never realized you had a YT channel! As a long time fan of the Elminster books and random Forgotten realms lore, instantly subbed ❤
ОтветитьNot gonna spoil the secret because everyone should watch this video but I get this impression Mr greenwood planned this many years ago and that’s really really cool that he’s still got so many twists and turns to add to his stories, dudes simply a brilliant story teller

This is like having an even number on the Supreme Court. Not recommended
Who is this Ivan fellow?
ОтветитьWolfheart has a great channel.
ОтветитьI can imagine tourists buying "Baldur's Gate is a happening place!" t-shirts. Well... perhaps there is a tabard or gambeson version instead?
ОтветитьWon't lie was hoping for the cult of thoon, thoon is thoon and thoon is all!
Ответитьjust discovered these videos, absolutely love the chemistry between you and your moderator. Long time fan of the FR (it was my original D&D setting when I first started playing). Consider me now a Protector of the Realms.
ОтветитьSending regards from WolfheartFPS' channel. Great content!
ОтветитьThis feels like rolling a nat 20 on a History check!
ОтветитьThere's a reason despite absolutely loving Dragonlance, I fell in love with the Forgotten Realms. Baldur's Gate games. I now can't pick either world as better, they're both incredible stories, fascinating characters, and the crown jewel, brightest Dungeons&Dragons moment is Baldur's Gate and people connected to it.
ОтветитьI would love a video like this of Luskan, a PC of mine hails from there but i dont know much outside of its run by Pirate Lords
ОтветитьI hope Larian is listening to this for a possible BG3 expansion…
ОтветитьLoves these videos going through all the lore and describing the layout of cities and so on. It's real cool to listen to and see these things in the minds eye.
I cannot wait to see what Baldurs Gate 3 does to make the town into reality and can only think what the future of games set in faerun might look like. If vr ever expands to the point of something akin to nervegear I think it would be absolutely amazing to go through these fantasy lands.
today I learned that one of the main things in Baldur's Gate is food trucks
ОтветитьGreat scribe of the Realms, please bring back Elminster. Thank you for all the hard work and passion you invested on this gorgeous world. Thank you Ed, greatest fantasy writer of all time!
ОтветитьI got the 2000th like 😮😂
Ответитьanother Wolfpack member to join Ed :)
ОтветитьEd greenwood is a national treasure. You folks in canada need to protect him at all costs
ОтветитьI used to live in the town where Ed could be found lurking in the local library. He is truly a treasure.
ОтветитьBest fantasy writer of all time
ОтветитьThis the first vid i seen from you, im here in preparation for BG3 and the hiden secrets sure did give me some study pointers, but i love how in depth you go and your character, cheers.
ОтветитьAll the love that Ed put and still puts in to the Realms is the biggest reason I adore the setting, even as I've fallen out of love with D&D as a system. I've been working on transferring things to work in World/Chronicles of Darkness, and Ed's continuing passion is what keeps me from giving up.
ОтветитьSarphoons spell sounds exactly like something a wizard with no sense of right and wrong would come up with.
I do love however Ed's description of Baldurs Gate, from its depictions in books and video games I always imagined it to be like a second Waterdeep or Neverwinter but his explanation paint it as a much seedier place and closer in spirit to Luskan. 👍
This whole series is so fantastic.
ОтветитьWould Really love a Who's who in the Realms series...There soooo much info on the Where's but not alot of the Who's info....The world needs to know Pikel Bouldershoulder or Tchazzar
ОтветитьI wish I could find a dm that had 1/100th of the knowledge of the Realms like Sage Greenwood
ОтветитьThe too salty food that makes you want to try a plethora of drinks, the singing elf that haunts the Inn, the petrified beholder above the mantle...
Elfsong Tavern will always be why I visit Wyrm's Crossing in Baldur's Gate. No matter which character I'm playing, I'll be there.
🐺
ОтветитьGreat of Elminster to travel to our universe and tell us his stories.
ОтветитьEd makes Baldur's Gate sound like a capitalist hellholeà 😂
ОтветитьEd Greenwood is Oghma…
ОтветитьHow do i get one of the shirts in the background?
ОтветитьDude’s laughter is even more forced than of Jimmy Fallon’s. What are you even laughing at?
ОтветитьListening to Gandalf talking about DnD is really Cool.
ОтветитьThe Sarphoon story hook sounds like a blast.
ОтветитьSnap I didn’t know Greenwood had a channel!
Ответитьlove love love your world and stories!!!
ОтветитьIf I were in Baldur's Gate during the 2nd edition or 5th edition time frame, I would visit the Elfsong Tavern for some Shadowdark Ale.
ОтветитьBetween 25 and 30 years ago, a friend of mine gave me a book. Elminster: The Making of a Mage. It has been a piece that has kept fantasy alive in my mind and heart for almost 30 years. I fell in love with the characters, the language, the writing style... even the way it, and many of your books, jump around in a bunch of short stories with framing references that make the whole story seemed to speak to my ADHD way of thinking. I've always wanted to meet Elminster, and shake his hand. I know there is no such thing as Ed Greenwood, but I'll keep that little secret to myself. I love you and your stories and the personalities that you have created. I don't know how I'm just now stumbling across your channel, but I'm so glad I found it. Thanks for all you've done.
ОтветитьNever as a wee child had I expected to listen to lectures of Elminster... I mean, Mr Ed? No, we should stop pretending - this is Elminster with alias ;P
ОтветитьI haven't read any forgotten realms books before but now want to...what do you recommend what be the 1st book I should read?? Thanks!
ОтветитьExcelent!
ОтветитьWhy am i seeing Ivan Ooze's egg getting mined and lifted in Baldur's Gate?
ОтветитьI love Ed´s attention to detail. It makes Baldur´s Gate looks like a real medieval city in our world. Many DMs just care about taverns and temples, temples and taverns.
ОтветитьBuried Trezorr is one of the wildest things I've ever heard, and I absolutely love it.
Ответить
