Samsung Galaxy S8 In 2023! (Still Worth It?) (Review)

I still use this phone.

I currently have an iPhone 11 and it only has a 12mp back camera and 5mp front camera… tell me how the s8, a phone from 6yrs ago, has better camera quality than mine from 3years ago??

I sold this for cash and got an S10 on contract in 2019. Still using S10 with no issues. Wish I never sold the S8. Feel like collecting all my phones.

I love my S8! I still use this phone...I love it...and I miss the hard press home button! I tried searching for an app that would be like it, but never found one!💔 I have the S10 and the S22 Ultra, but still keep going back to this phone. I hate my S22! My S10 is still amazing too! 😁 I miss the headphone jack in my S22! I loathe wireless headphones! It's just another thing I need to keep charged🙄 I have an S6 too, but I threw it and the glass shattered and killed the motherboard 😬

I clicked the best iPhone links and first of all horrible selection…secondly, nobody is gonna pay $1200 for an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Might as well get an iPhone 15 pro max for around the same price.

This phone still looks better than most phones that comes out now.

I have it and i had a one ui 2.5 custom rom on it and it was smooth exept Samsung dex pc and now i have a lineage os android 13 custom rom on it and its smoother than most phones under 300€ so of you know how to install custom roms i would recommend it for people that want to buy a cheap phpne because its pretty cheap in good condition and its better than many cheap new phones

my S8+ still works, but the USB-C port died, and also the headphone jack... and the flimsy micro-SD card holder broke. i was nothing but careful with it, and it appears flawless, but those 3 issues makes it suck. without the removable storage and headphone jack it's basically an iPhone now.

Recently had to go back to my s8 because I broke my main phone and wow it holds up so good, every app still works perfectly, still snappy and fast (maybe not on pace with a 2023 phone but not slow enough to be annoying by any means) battery is starting to get a bit knackered now but if I'm out for the day and just using for a bit of messaging, maps, music etc it will last the day and it charges up really fast for the more heavy usage days at home. So glad I kept it as a backup (+ someone actually complimented me on my nice phone too😂) Samsung did everything so right with this phone

The only issue with samsung phones is the battery after 5 years. I have been using S8 from 5 years and except battery issue, nothing no comparison with iphones. Samsung much better.

Thanks to Otterbox, my S8 still looks brand new. I've had many close calls including a screen first drop on to the sidewalk which the Otterbox belt clip protrusion saved the screen from any damage.

Overall 2017 is a huge change for phones like s8 and iphone x like small bezels and usb c

For me, i think this phone is honestly still worth it. Lots of capability! The android version is a bit old, but everything else is really great! It's a great backup and a great hand-me-down! It still performs well.

Im thinking of getting this one just because there is a keyboard accesory. Lots of S8 in the after market but can't find the keyboard case

Never buy a samsung s8 i had it in 2022 and it was so bad

I remember getting the s8 plus as my first current flagship phone. And it was really amazing back then. It was one of the first few phones to adopt the new aspect ratio. Sold the s8 plus and got the s8 instead because back then. The two models only had a difference in size and nothing else.

These days there are some compromises on the smaller phone vs the bigger one.

Anyway. Good times. I felt like the next real jump that samsung did after this design was the foldables.

How is your burn in so bad?
Mine has literally nothing. The s8 is still sise and featurer wiese one of the best.
I upgraded to the s20 and especially the camera is waaaaay better but I have to say i really miss the 3d tutch/hard press home buton.
Luckily the s20 still has an sdcard slot. Sometimes I miss the headphone jack but with wierles headphones thats ok.

Color lens feature helps hide the screen burns a bit.

Still using this phone but boi is the replacement screen expensive.

I still have mine... back in the day when I was young products were made to last, and really this GS8 is so nice, only problem is it no longer has the dual video... if anyone knows an app to use on the GS8 in 2023 let me know.

I've been using mine since July 2017 😂 its barely starting to show it's age, so much lag and super fast battery drainage...im ready to upgrade but they don't make them good like this anymore, the screen so so so amazing

I remember when this phone got out back in 2017, I instantly had a crush on it! I lowkey envy-ed my friends who got it lol, unfortunately didn't get to buy it back then in high school, but now I can finally have it :D the nostalgic form factor!

I still use mine as my primary device. I just changed my battery so I can keep using it.

Your screen is so burnt in, i'm surprised because mine is 6 years old now with daily use and i only see extremely subtle signs of burn in (from the keyboard) and only when turning the brightness all the way up. (It has helped that i use the screen at low brightness the majority of the time)

The best samsung n one of my favourite smart phone I had, that I didnt plan to buy in the first place. Its still remain ahead of it time I use it till 2021 n still the best compare to other android phone, the feautere have everything, finger print sensor, nfc, wireless charging, 60fps video record, extended mirco SD. Sadly the batery is draining n overheated😢. RIP my S8+

I've had my s8 for 5 years and sadly the screen has finally given up. I will need to get a new phone, but I could have happily used that phone forever

i have an s8 because im too young for a "real phone" im not a fan of the colour of it, but it looks good with a case. i also dont like the camera placement, because the camera, being in the middle looks a bit outdated, and the camera module being on the side looks a bit more modern. as well as the fingerprint sensor, i dont like the placement, and with a case, its even more uncomfortable. im very grateful for it though, and itll last for 2 more years at least.

but one thing thatll make it harder to use as it ages is its battery life. i can wake up at 7am with 100%, but maybe at 4 or 5 pm, it completely dies. its mostly because of its age, so im not blaming any of the s8s features. i partly also blame it on my usage, that being around 7 to 8 hours a day. it also has a GREAT idle battery. if i leave it off for the entire day, itll only lose 5 percent, which is good considering how old my phone is.

i do love this phone, and i find the camera great, because to the average consumer, you cant really see the difference between this and an s9 for example, unless youre pixel peeping.

the next phone im planning on getting once i become of the age, is the s20 fe or the s21 fe

How much is galaxy worth

I've had mine for 5 years. Still runs just as fast as in the beginning. The battery has been giving up and I have the TikTok homescreen burned into my screen despite only having the app for a month or two. I'm getting a new screen and battery soon (the screen is also cracked in the corner, making it no longer waterproof). I hope to pump out some more life out of this phone, because I still love it the same as when I got it.

The S8s sleek design and the infinity screen MUST go down as the greatest phone design of all time. It must.

Samsung's S7 edge and S8 edge...i sold my s21 ultra after 3days..£400 cash and. A brand new experia 5...top phone's experias..mad how we all have our favorite phones..
