How to change default video player app for Xiaomi phone MIUI 14

That instruction doesn't work. Here's what does work:
Go to the file manager, log press on a video -> "open in another app" -> "remember my choice" -> select your app.

Fuck Xiaomi native apps, I just want to listen to my own music and watch my own videos, I don't want tiktok-like garbage when I open them

Doesn't work. I've set my Video Player to VLC as default. Yet, every time i try to open a Video, the player that opens it is "Mi Video Player"

Does not work. Videos keep opening in Mi Video. It does not help to revoke all permissions from the application.

Mi Video Player doesnt have the slideshow preview bar when you play the video, i prefer the old default player... any info how to get or install the old one? my gallery app without Mi Video doesnt open video files.... i am on miui14 mod cn (redmi 9)
