you left out the bottom quarter of the population. Less than minimum wage workers. You also do not campare wages from city to province which is easily done by comparing minimum wage ratios

You realize most of us in the US and make $2000 a month so if you’re telling us that we’re not gonna live like a king for $2000 a month then what’s the point of going

$200 a month for an entire household o p10k is the 2nd quartile in Manila, half that in most provinces. It is not considered poor by the government. Philippines institute of development studies is using standards that are more reasonable than the governments. ie 1/4 of pinoy are poor and 1/4 destitute. Barangays now use a different standard. Tin roof, CR and concrete floor mean you are not poor and cannot get free philheath.

Can you say the average person in the Philippines makes $500 a month so I’m sorry if you’re saying two to $3000 give me the highlights and it sounds like the Philippines is coming to westernize and it probably should quit why is ahead before it becomes like the US over price over expensive in rate of all of us, natural beauty and resources.

The Philippines is one of the SLOWEST growing economies in SE Asia. Slower anre Cambodia and Myanmar. All its neighbours are growing faster. This is largely because of rich families are unwilling to invest in production because then they would have to pay tax. Tax that would go to education and health for the "lazy" poor they despise. A poor they think are 5% not 50%. Another problem is massive middle management. With public offices being granted as favours. Thus building a cell tower requires 80 permits. And there are 6 times as many cell towers per person in Indonesia than the Philippines. Mayors consider themselves lords. The top source of foreign income is remittances from people who left, 2nd is prostitution. Growing by shrinking is not growing.

I can live in Manila for $800 a month because I know how to get cheap rent. Most will want a condo and to live on the outskirts of a secondary city/fiefdom

The high and middle class jobs are concentrated around Manila. 99% of the people outside Greater Manila have low paying jobs, if any at all. Of the 1500 Filipino people I have met online, every one has a low income, except the doctor.

I would like to know where you are getting your numbers. Unless I am missing something I spend under $900 dollars a month and I live in metro manila just purchased a 2024 Toyota vios XLE. Now you must be including bar fining, going to bars drinking and just blowing money. Why not tell your subscribers about the promos. I live comfortably no problems. My budget is $2800 a month I save 1900-2000 a month. There are promos for everything even my car was a promo. I lived here 15+ years here. If I need to spend that kind of money why come here. Just saying.

A thing that is often forgotten is that you need the money in the Ph. It means that you have to be a retieeree or have a decent ”digital nomad” job. I have tried living in a van in the US and that was fun but maybe nothing for the long run. I follow a girl, Filipina, that found a wonderful place with a sea view for $150/month. But then she was a local, the place was put out by a rich Italian expat. I would like to live in a city with many universities or highschools because I have an academic degree and want to meet similar people. Where would you recommend to live?

Americans do not leave the USA to live in The Philippines, only single, mostly over 50 yo and few young ones.
Families and couples have as a much better option Latin America and if the destination is SE Asia they prefer before The Philippines, certainly Indonesia (Bali) and Vietnam, even Thailand offers much better quality life for your bucks as well as Malaysia.
The Philippines stands between Cambodia and Vietnam ONLY because is the country with the best well English spoken of the region, otherwise foreigners will go for different destinations 100%.
The Philippines still not on the level of Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.
BGC does not showcase the outlooks of the country at all and Makati was always one of the most preferred areas for foreigners
As per the bar girls area of Burgos it did existed and still pretty alive. The only difference is that poblacion become the trendy area for young Filipinos to go out, and same as before for foreigners.
Between Latin America and SE Asia most of Americans prefer Latin America.
The Philippines 2024 is OVER RATED!!!!

That salary you mentioned for software engineers and IT managers seem small. I wonder where you got that figure. Anyway, 700usd might be for a software engineer with less than 2 years work experience. Software engineers with 5+ years experience can already demand a six digit salary in peso or roughly around 1800 usd.
