Tesla has the worst customer service. Their whole business model is not to have customer service. With any solar company, call their customer service number first and see how long it takes for them to respond and what level of customer service you receive before you buy.

The first mistake was installing them in the first place

The SMA Inverter should be installed in the shade. The cloudy lcd panel is the installers fault! Just finished my own 6.8kw roof mount pv system. I would not tell anyone its easy - it is not. It takes time to research and does require some general construction skills and electrical. Theirs a lot of marketing spin and misinformation regarding optimizers and micro inverters. And one popular brand should be avoided.

Tesla’s customer service is slow, back logged and almost none existent. Elon bought solar city from his cousin before it went bankrupt. His business is making cars not maintaining a failing business

I would recommend a system with some panel level insight. I have SolarEdge and I like that you can see each panels output in the app so you would have an idea if one panel had an issue. A smaller system isn't always a bad thing as I would rather have that and be able to afford it vs no solar at all.

It looks to me like the installation was very profesional. The fact that they are gone makes it "unprofessional."

We purchased ours from Costco (SunRun). Doing it ourselves would be totally unrealistic.

I was willing to pay more to make sure we would have a company that will be "around."

I live in an HOA. Doing it by oneself' is not going to happen.
