Had a quick look online and the price seems to be somewhere in the range of almost 10k more than the MG...

In Oz, this will probably be around $40000. Still a bit of a high price for a daily driver.

How tall are you? Would be helpful to know how tall a person could be to sit in back comfortably?

Sorry but in New Zealand MG 4 is the cheapest EV, cheaper than BYD Dolphin. Moreover, all MG 4s have rear independent multi-link suspension including Excite 51. For the Dolphin either I have to put up with Torsion beam rear suspension or go for top of the line. Seating position for the Dolphin is too high for a non-SUV. MG 4 on the other hand feels more like a proper hatch. Battery cells in BYD is the only advantage.
Fun fact GWM Ora or Ora Good Cat's pricing is similar to MG ZS EV Excite which is a bigger car. For that I rather buy the ZS EV Excite because you get more car for your money.
Back to the Dolphin, either I go for the top of the range otherwise a MG 4 Excite 51.

As the Chinese force their way into the European market by undercutting prices, the cars and batteries get smaller with fewer features. If you want a tiny car for Noddy and Big Ears that is only used for commuting and short journeys you will save pollution in town, but you now have 2 cars! Is that really smart? Noddy and Big Ears will still cost late £20Ks and that is a lot for a tiny car. Get a small diesel turbo built to Euro VI or VII, that costs late £10Ks and delivers 70-80 mpg. Covers commuting and long journeys and saves an entire car.

Cant take this guy seriously. The car seems to have bad and good points about it but this he keeps putting a good spin on everything. The range is crap and the back seats are useless to an adult. No one likes wheel covers on any car so to say there quirky is just plan stupid. The quality looked good and design was awful. Feel he is being paid to give this car a review.

Can someone explain to me why it costs converted 15K € in China and 35k € in germany? Like wtf, if it were 20 or even 25k I´d understand it somewhat because of certifications, taxes and import but more than double the price its sold in china? WTF

Is this a review or more of a commercial? This car is from wheel drive and sluggish! The MG4 is such a better drive and value for money!

Err. Sorry Dolphin but cutesy fussy vents in seashell pink AND you expect me to consider paying actual money for it? Love the screens and even the mini-SUV exterior is passable but the vents. It may appeal to some people, but honestly it is a NOT something I could get into and not feel hugely uncomfortable and embarrassed by.

They do burn well!

MG4 is rear wheel drive and handles like a hot hatch should.

MG make very unreliable\ poor quality econoboxes, BYD should be a better proposition in terms of affordability.

I don't know if this cares anyone but as an Iranian I'm super confused.. idk if yall know about the Urmia lake in Iran Tabriz, the shitty gov of the country started a long lived plan to dry the entire lake with the help of china just to extract the lithium out of the bottom. (FYI Urmia Lake has one of the biggest lithium concentration in the ME)
Anyways, again due to shitty gov, poor management, lack of heart for the people or the country, there aren't a few if any battery manufacturers in Iran, we can't mass produce if even produce quality EVs, so the China decided to somewhat rob the lithium from the lake and started mass producing EVs and other lithium-ion battery stuffs. I'm sad bcz we couldn't use our own resources and make a name or branding, we're being robbed bothe by our gov and Chinese gov, but happy cuz I know there is a small percentage of Iran inside these car which may be successful in EU. I may not be mentally able to accept buying a car made out of my country's robbed resources but farewell for you fellows, safe drivings and happy moments. At £31,695, Jan 2024 Google search, it is so darn cheap. Don't know how they will keep up with demand. At £26,995 the MG4 EV might as well pack it's bags.

Wouldnt it cost them the same amount to make a car that isn't ugly as shit? Like the body could be shaped differently for the same cost you would think

The thing that gets me is why can’t the manufacturers design the front of cars without the grill of an old ICE car . Surely they can be made more aerodynamic than present

Decent enough electric car (which is saying a lot for the price), but man, BYD as an entity is so damn problematic, especially in its home land of China. While this Dolphin might be an exception, many of the companies' models that have the Blade battery system have been super difficult to maintain and repair, with many mainland China mechanics recommending they just buy a new car instead. As for the company itself, it's been accused of silencing it's own customers who have been very critical of the company, using Chijese patriotism to sell cars, refusing to adress the quality issues, and engaging in unfair price wars (thanks to CCP-backed funding) with other car companies, with many foreign car companies even threatening to pull out of China because of these business tactics. I'm hoping for their sake that their cars and, more importantly, their behaviour as a car company for the overseas markets is better
