BS, we put our son through ISR. It was a not good, crying screaming kids every session. It looks good when you see them roll over, come up on their back and float. But guess what, 2 weeks after they are finished they forget how to do it. I watched our boy go into our pool head first. He went straight toward the bottom rolled over and continued on the same trajectory toward the bottom and continuing down. I waited to see if he was going to start coming up, didnt happen so in I went. Way too traumatic and there are better ways. Visit your local public pool for a mom & tots program.

This is cruel, and disgusting child abuse!
You need to always watch your kids, and not have a pool at your house.
You teach your kids to swim when they are a little older.

This was terrifying to watch but also so amazing. You both are strong women and I will tell everyone I know about this program. I think Dr's should advocate for this & help spread awareness to new parents.

Last 50 years, Omg, I wish ISR was more well known. Found this video through reading Granger’s book “Like a River” which is so heart breaking and at the same time one of the best books I’ve ever read).
What a beautiful sweet baby, great job Maverick🎉 you did it, that’s so amazing ❤!!!!!
Hugs to you all and to River in heaven ❤
We’ll be making ISR and Swim top priority for our girls.
Thank you

That was hard to watch. If you watch other videos (a british one especially), they do it much differently, the babies in those weren't terrified! There are better ways, you can see that in the other videos, the babies were very relaxed for the most part, none were trembling and crying.

as a new parent I can't tell you how uncomfortable I was with the baby crying on his first lesson. But the mom's perspective on it was spot on... its for the Baby's own good... and to come from her who lost a child from drowning show so much strength from her as a mother...

But how long can a baby float on their back? The best preventative thing to do is have a locked cover on the pool.

Child protective services will take your kids if one of them drowns while under your supervision. These women are an exception- able to have more children and keep them, because they have money.

Back in the 90s when my girlfriend had two babies by her second husband ..,when she and I were walking along the side of a neighborhood association pool ,she thought her two kids were following her ..one was three and one was a toddler .the boy toddler suddenly jumped into the water and the mother screamed...! A teenage lifeguard girl immediately jumped into the water and picked him up ....When his head came up ,he was smiling. and he looked like it was fun ..That just shows you how babies will do something impulsive..... especially boys ..most childhood drownings are boys..

A few weeks back I saw multiple videos of this swimming system and I wasn't a fan bc I thought it was cruel. It just bothered me when the babies cried so much. It's sad to hear babies crying. The one thing that's also very sad is hearing parents crying after losing their child. Now I've completely changed my mind. The most important thing is that moms and dads don't lose their children to a drowning. Anything that saves a baby/toddler/child's life is just one more tool in the box for parents to protect and preserve the lives of their children. God bless you all I pray. My deepest sympathy for anyone who's lost a child to drowning.

All I have to say is teach him swimming well and good but please please in a temperature controlled pool and probably indoor pool where wind is not blowing - the child is literally SHAKING not because of fear but mostly because it’s too cold for him and it’s hard to watch that! It’s cruel!! Please 😢

Wow, that was hard to watch, I can't imagine how a mother of a child right there watching it live in person must feel and wanting to jump in and knock that ISR instructor in the head and take my child. I too noticed Mav seem to be taking in water and was thinking very badly of the instructor only concerned about making a video and not this child. But then after the fact when Amber mentioned it seemed he was taking water and the instructor explained they KNOW when and what to watch for if they take on water or to much water, like the bubbles coming out their nose or spitting it up, then it made sense and I think I could trust her. So what we were seeing was totally normal for the training. I do think I'd have people watch a video like this BEFORE they actually do it so they know what to expect and what is normal. I can certainly see how this video can and will save lives.

I have 4, two grown and my older one at home can swim and all good now, but I have my 5 year old, who cannot swim yet,and we live on a Rd across from a lake..... This is absolutely terrifying to me, to this very day. I HAVE to look into how to teaching her how to swim.

The quote “We need to stop doing this things that are teaching our kids to drown.” Hit so hard! When I was 5, I went to an after school swim program and on the first day, I was CONVINCED I was a master swimmer because I always used floaties.

When my teacher left us pool side for a minute to get something (which now as an adult I realize she def should not have…) I jumped right into the water and sank straight to the bottom. I still remember looking up at the top of the pool as I sank and thinking “……I think I’m going to drown….”

The teacher got me out within seconds but I often think back to that day and wonder if I would’ve have been part of that statistic… I remember my mentality as a kid too. I wasn’t trying to not follow the rules, I just thought that I already knew how to swim and wanted to show my friends.

I think this is amazing and so smart of you to have him learn how to save hisself if he would ever accidentally fall into a pool or a body of water. I started my son very young too, because almost everyone on my husband’s side of the family can’t swim and they always love to go fishing.

Just had a repairman here at the house and after him talking about his 6mth old going to swim lessons later this evening I brought this up. I talked about ISR and how I'd send him a link to this video to teach the survival lessons needed. We had a whole safety talk about children and water and what any parent should do to help prevent drownings. Thanks again for bringing awareness to this important subject

I felt so anxious… Amber, your strength, courage and Faith… I’m just in awe of you! I cannot Imagine how you must have felt giving him over to be let go of in a pool. Oh Bless you!! But you sacrificed for him yet again, so that he will had the skills to help himself, should he find himself in a dangerous situation. And you have brought so much sweaters to this silent killer!!!
