I had a tear in my eye when I heard yesterday that Melanie had left us. I was 7 years old in 1970 and just getting into music. God Bless you Melanie and may you rest in Eternal Peace
Tony in Portsmouth England.
It just dawned on me that she has a very similar vibe to Buffy Sainte Marie. Both wonderful musicians.
ОтветитьWhen I hear this version, today for the first time, this song will always be this version now. When she sings it, it makes sense. Truly amazing. Just amazing.
ОтветитьUp until i heard of Melanie Safka's death, i only knew of the Rolling Stones version. Although the Rolling Stones version is good,
i actually very much enjoyed this version. She was much more talented then some remembering her for "Brand New Key". Of course, people who followed her throughout her career most likely already knew this. I love this version. I just want to keep playing it.
Thank you Melanie for sharing your talents and yourself in this world. May you rest in peace.
She is just superb ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Rip dear mama Melanie ✝️✝️✝️☮️☮️☮️☮️🕯🕯🕯🕯❤️❤️❤️❤️

ОтветитьShe was the first singer I ever heard on radio. My early years
ОтветитьMy sister,15 years between us, (her older) LOVED Melanie . She married when I was 8 . I was devastated . She came to me at her Wedding reception and told me shed left me something on my bed. It was her Melanie Records. She died a couple of years later. NOBODY could sing like Melanie ,but I hear my Sis ,nearly 50 years later ,every time. Thanks Melanie , im owe you one girl xx
ОтветитьBeautifull lady
ОтветитьSad news , too many of the stars I loved and listened to growing up are fading away ,but leaving fantastic memories.
ОтветитьAmazing! The BEST version!
ОтветитьI miss Melanie so much. She sung as I would have sung when I was much...much younger. We did not have all that crappy "computerized" type music and shouting and nonsense young people listen to today. I have my only channel featuring my player piano and mostly older songs and am Melanie's age. I loved her voice and her music.
