You can see the moment that in (his mind) he realizes he’s been played by Dave and the one thing of value he got out of all of this (a real friend, a lover) has been robbed from him, in exchange for an illusion that doesn’t matter (his status as coach) mocked by the truth he now realizes everyone knows (that Dave is the real coach). So outwitted, alone, and humiliated (again, some in his head, some of it true— as Dave most certainly is playing along in this dangerous game) this repressed man is now ready to kill, in self-defense— of his own inner demons, and against the very predatory system of wealth that makes him as much a victim as everyone involved. That empathy is what Carrell expresses so well, by hardly saying a word, in the hands of a master filmmaker, saying everything.
ОтветитьAnd now he eats gruel
ОтветитьI would have punched dude right in the back of the head. He definitely could have saved Dave, but I also understand not trying to help.
ОтветитьI imagine that the first reaction when they announced a comedy guy such as Steve Carell to perform Du Pont might've sounded like a non-sense choice. But I think it was a clever casting move. Not just because Steve is an amazing actor but because the more I see this film the more I found similarities between John and another role performed by Carell himself: Michael Scott. Just think about it. They're both kind of losers looking for external approval using their power position to achieve it. Du Pont is just the tragic flip-side of Scott.
ОтветитьDamn that driver was a pussy. Sickly old man sitting inches from you, looking away, holding a gun in one hand for at least 5 seconds? Plus, whose to say the dude wouldn't have turned around and shot him too? In that situation you gotta take the chance and mollywhop the dude.
ОтветитьSuch sad scene . Dave in this move seem like such a big hearted guy. The way they made you love this guys charactor an to see him taken away from his family . Probally the tuffest scene i ever seen in a movie just because how drawn to the charactor i was
ОтветитьRon Howard narrating "He DID in fact have a problem."
Ответитьhow the fuck do you get manslaughter for driving to a dudes house with a gun and shooting him dead with someone in your passenger seat as witness. what in the fuck, that is at least 2nd degree if not flat out murder in the first. at least he died in prison but still they shouldve thrown the fucking book at him.
ОтветитьPromo fag ding needed aye?
ОтветитьDoesany body knows why Netflix delete the scene where supongo shots all horses Whit the 50 cal machine gun.
ОтветитьDupont
ОтветитьGod damn. If you’re rich as fuck just chill and enjoy life. Why fabricate this horrible drama. The dude was loaded. Just pay dudes to do whatever you want. Why go through all this wrestler shit? Just bizarre as fuck.
ОтветитьDupont was a nut with too much money and doing too much coke.
ОтветитьFine. ill rewatch the office.
ОтветитьExplain this to me like five
ОтветитьHe knew David was really Bruce Banner, a fugitive. He did not give him a chance to turn into the hulk.
ОтветитьWhy he didn’t grab the gun from him in the car is the saddest part
ОтветитьMichael, no!
ОтветитьI always forget Steve Carrel played this role. This is a really sad story for everyone involved. Even DuPont
ОтветитьI feel like i would have a better understanding of whats going on if i watched the rest of the movie first.
ОтветитьI can't believe he shot the hulk like that.
ОтветитьWhy did the dude in the passenger seat (who sees John reach for the gun) not react to it until it’s out the window? Huge continuity issue….
ОтветитьJohn Du Pont was from a very generous wealthy family who have given millions to various charities in America.
ОтветитьWhy didn't he just morph into the Incredible Hulk?
ОтветитьThe acting in this movie was so great. Never has a movie made wrestling drilling look so real the way mark and Channing did at the beginning.
ОтветитьTHE SECURITY DETAIL WITH JOHN HAD A GUN THE WHOLE TIME AND COULD HAVE STOPPED THE SHOOTING!?
ОтветитьDeluded rich people - DuPont, Trump, Musk... - money is the root of all evil
Ответитьcan someone explain to me why the passenger in the car who also has a gun, just lets dupont shoot?
ОтветитьDon't inbreed, is the lesson here.
ОтветитьDamn this kind of a stacked cast how did i hear nothing about it
ОтветитьDude if this doesn't show how incredible of an actor Steve carell is idk what the fuck would prove it. The dude is a legitimate thespian. He fell into this role perfectly.
ОтветитьAs the film I've studied the most for film school, I'm still in awe of the simplicity of this scene; the levels of historical sublty and growing anxiety are next level terrifying. Bennett Miller is a master of his craft.
ОтветитьYou can tell by the lack of any feeling in his eyes, how truly mentally ill he is. Shooting the gun with zero facial expression. Not even a wince. Scary thing is, there are people in the real world exactly like this!
Ответитьnot all people who have guns are crazy, but all people who are crazy have guns. That shouldn't be allowed.
ОтветитьI was totally bewildered when this happened, I had no idea about what the story was prior to watching the movie .. Insane and tragic ..
ОтветитьResearch the Talmud to understand this ruling class and their ideology dig deep beyond Google beyond Wikipedia the game is rigged. So much money that they over power governments and royals. Put that into perspective. No bribe is too great as they can print money
ОтветитьIf you want to be a good friend be like David, doesn't get on someone for their weirdness or their abnormality's, but will still call you on your bullshit in a good way, Unfortunately some people cant tell who is truly trying to be a friend.
ОтветитьFrom what I seen in documentaries and interviews, it seems none had respect for jon more than Dave. The fact that jon killed the only man who was greatful to him is beyond anything. I do agree with the movie trailer, the only thing more horrifying than the crime itself, is the man who did it.
Ответитьsatisfying to watch when you know ruffalo is a woke idiot lol
ОтветитьI watched this movie when it came out... i had no idea that was Mark Ruffalo and Steve Carrell. Crazy good performances.
ОтветитьMark Ruffalo's acting is so good, I feel bad for his character in this scene. Great movie in every way
ОтветитьThe DuPont family seems as rotten as their legacy company, when you think about it
Ответитьthis was the most stressful movie I've ever seen. Its like every aspect of it is steeped in tension, and the gunshot is the line finally snapping violently
ОтветитьIt's everyday bro
ОтветитьThis film cut deep
ОтветитьI know it's extremely tragic that this basically happened exactly how it's depicted; there's something else correctly depicted. that man's fucken' beak. I'm sorry and I'll go away now.
Ответить$35M from his death.. which was probably really $9M if you take out the lawyers fees and state taxes/trust funds
ОтветитьOne of the greatest piano pieces of all time - Fur Alina by Arvo Part.
ОтветитьA monster created by an ascendingly decaying system.
ОтветитьHe Killed Bruce Banner!
