Great video guys, that poor jeep... that would suck to have your 4wd break down on a big trip...
ОтветитьIs that patrol vinyl wrapped? Awesome video.
ОтветитьThe first big trip I did in my FJ45 Cruiser in 89 nearly didn't happen after the engine burned a couple of exhaust valves. I left from Perth and by Darwin the engine was running rough so I limped to Cairns to camp before the trip up to Cape York. I brought new valves in Darwin and pulled the head of the 4.2 petrol in the caravan park and replaced the burned valves which were so far gone about half of the face of valve was burned clean off. It's common for petrol Cruisers to burn valves as they develop a air leak in the exhaust header which leads to charred valves.
Few days later I was heading North for the Cape Cruiser running fine. Helped out a German biker who had a head on with another bike on the Old Telegraph Line. He insisted he would sleep on the beach at Bamiga ignoring our advice that Salt Water Crocks inhabit the beaches here. Somehow he didn't get eaten so we decided he would ride bitch back down to Cairns. Nice kid a bit of bad luck.
I've done the Gibb five times in various 4x4's and on a Bike. I love the Kimberly it's Gods country. In regards to the Jeep I've had that same fault in the engine of my Kia Sorento. I narrowed it down to a hydraulic lifter sticking holding a valve open thus the rough running and loud metallic tapping. I run the engine at high idle until the lifter pumped up then the engine run fine. I changed the oil with higher viscosity now the motor runs ok but it won't be doing any big trips until properly sorted.
Love your vids. The Drone filming it's awesome.
Well done boys, keep em coming..
ОтветитьAwesome video guys, such awesome footage and I really love the editing style of dope tunes, unscripted voice and high-res footage. Hurry up with the next one!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing, all the best, from, Portugal!
ОтветитьWhy was the tail shaft taken out ? I'm not mechanically sound but very interested
ОтветитьNever buy Jeep..Guy I know took the Jeep CRD Wrangler on the 4wd track and broke down on the top of mountain.. tow it down eventually, and they can't get the motor. Cost $15,000 for the recondition motor.. Rubbish car the best reliable Jeep is the car leave in your garage..
ОтветитьSo what's the result of the Jeep?
ОтветитьGood to have the commentary this time round
ОтветитьGreat Video guys. Nicely edited. I love the fact that the young bloke who broke his leg was still on the trip... Poor fella. Credit to the parents for pursuing and not letting it affect your annual trip. Looking forward to part 2..... 👍
ОтветитьGreat video guys. I originally stumbled upon your sidetracked 16 videos checking out some Cape York for my own adventure. Next thing i had watched all your vids 😂 Keep it up as they are very inspiring to get my trip sorted. Lookomg forward to 2nd video
Ответитьloved it guys, keep up the great work, just had to subscribe
ОтветитьBoys how do you find a Wrangler 'Reliability'? Just bad luck?
ОтветитьJeep using FCA diesel (thanks Fiat). Chrysler should have contracted with Cumming with the new 2.8r turbo.
ОтветитьNot a fan of Jeeps but that one certainly looked like he had put some effort into it. Tough luck right at the start but good to see you kicked on and didn't go home.
ОтветитьAwesome vid guys, just getting through this series now!
Shame about the Jeep... I have a JK Wrangler CRD as well and love it, it's my 5th Jeep now (1st deisel), never had any problems with any of them. My current JK did a 12,000km trip from Perth touring through SA and NT and back again at the beginning of this year. Was the best trip.
Jeep - unreliable @ any time.
ОтветитьLol the jeep didn't even make it off the tarmac and it shit it self😂hilux to the rescue
ОтветитьHow is the vinyl wrap holding up guys?
ОтветитьI would not convoy with people who had a Jeep!
Ответитьhaha awesome intro mate. Great vids too. Where's the plan for your 2018 trip?
ОтветитьGreat video. Awesome editing.
ОтветитьExcellent production well done!
ОтветитьSubscribed!
Love the narration in this one
Feel your pain mate. Seen far too many issues with these unfortunately. Despite looking awesome they just break all the time. Get a Toyota.
ОтветитьIt's"The Kimberley" not the Kimberley's...it's not plural!
ОтветитьGuessing you came up from SA - how long did you take off work/put aside for the trip?
ОтветитьBloody Jeep
Ответитьseriously had to kill the Jeep easy yet and the Hilux wow and truly very dangerous to tow that long have done similar with my old Terrano and am massive Nissan van from below Darwin to three ways talk about a economy hit lol Good work team
ОтветитьEpic
ОтветитьFeel your pain mate, i had an injector failure on the beach full loaded with the camper etc. Not fun. Changed all 4 and now keep the 3 'good' ones in the rear behind the light. Find out what it was?
ОтветитьGreat clip....great music too
You guys could make movie out of this.....thank you for sharing the adventure.
Hi, what's the hilux rear bumper? I'd like one of those on mine. Hope to hear from you guys back. Thanks
ОтветитьGood vid boys. I honestly didn’t think anyone actually drank West End, so I even learnt something! 🤣
ОтветитьGood luck with your trips and looking forward to more vids
ОтветитьJEEP - Just Expect Excessive Problems
ОтветитьOh for goodness sakes! The jeep,s gotta go 😖
ОтветитьI have started watching your older videos and the last two Marco's Jeep broke down! Are they that unreliable?
ОтветитьDiesel jeeps are very unreliable. Petrol are the way to go.
