I had to watch it twice 😂 the first time I didn't hear anything you said 😅

It's so ironic, i wouldn't call myself a complete beginner gardener but potatoes are my kryptonite! I cant seem to get a successful proper harvest before the stems of my plant rots away and im left with nothing, even the seed potato has fully decomposed away at this point. And this last happened at about the 40-day mark. Im not sure if the grow bags i was using were just too moist, but i feel like even after slowing down in the watering i still cant nail it. I will keep trying!

Wire worms burrow into tubers to avoid hot, overly dry soil. If you keep your soil well-covered (which will keep it cooler and more moist), you will have far less damage.

If you do drainage holes in the bottom, don't the worms get in that way as well?

I don't understand why those worms don't get into the pots, either through the holes in the bottom or by the beetle laying eggs?

When i came to my current plot of land i had the same problem, i started to notice that the older neighbors used to plant cilantro, sage and even garlic with the potatoes.
Did the same and those cheeky bugs disappeared.

To boil usually plant Mondial, Monaliza , Vivaldi.
To fry usually plant Asterix , Mozart and Romano.

I grow potatoes in the flexible tubs used by builders, they are generally bigger than 20lts.amd have handles which makes it easier to move then should you wish to.I stand them on pallets which lessens the chance of wire worm coming out of the soil into the pots. I am now groing my Christmas potatoes having harvested the first earlies and some of the seconds. I grow carrots in pots as well, they sit on boards above my compost bins so out of the reach of carrot fly and leaving ground space for other crops.

I am just starting to get into planting potatoes. This video helps me a lot. 😊

Black pots attract sunshine and can get way too hot so the roots and potatoes suffer. Try white pots or simply paint your black pots white
