Senegal seems different to me than elsewhere in the region. It's the Wolof language, the music, the dance, their voices when they sing. It seems like a mix of West Africa and Sahel and maybe even north and east African inspired.

Anthony Bourdain used to slam heroin with toilet water and eat trash out of dumpsters, he isnt the best food critic to take seriously, im sure he has a sophisticated palette but his stamdards arent so high.

I felt uneasy in Dakar because I was the only white European in the streets. I live in cosmopolitan London so I am not used to standing out in a crowd. Dakar needs more people like me who go there for adventure. I am probably the first person to cross over to Goree island in an inflatable canoe. I hope others will follow my example.

Senegal is different from Nigeria or Congo, just like UK is different from Lithuania or Switzerland (if not more?). But we are taught that it is all just the same from Dakar to Cape town and Mogadishu. I am hoping Africa gets more of a platform

For some reason, here in Argentina we have a lot of Senegalese people selling jewelry and clothes in the streets.

Here, nobody seems to know the real story (or show cultural interest) by this people.

I mean it, we here can see them every day selling their things in the streets. All of them work here.

I think that there is not even a single case of Senegalese robbering here in Argentina. Or at least, if it occurs, it does not trascend to the mainstream news...

I feel a bit sad, to be honest, for this people. Not for the Senegalese people, i mean for all the African people, because, at least those who come as inmigrants, they seem to come from a very poor country in where the life is really tough.

Here, the costums and the general culture can be quite different to their own..

I don't know. Like i already say; you can see them just working here... just selling their stuff.

This people don't mess with anybody, they just care about their own business/issues and just that.

I would like to know... have some conversation with this people in a way or another... even engage friendship and meet their story. Becouse, here in Argentina, they are a lot, and we know, really, anything about them.

That's sad. For both : Argentinian people and Senegalese people.

_________

I also wanna say that i hate any form of rascism and discrimination.
