Maybe it was not a Spy Balloon after all.

Now, US officials confirmed that the Ballon didn't collect information. Is that meaning you are lied or you are idiot?

This guy is an idiot. He says weather balloon payloads are only ever a few kg. But if you look at NASA’s own website…

>The balloon system includes the balloon, the parachute and a payload that holds instuments to conduct scientific measurements. Helium, the same gas used to fill party balloons, is used in NASA balloons. These very large balloons can carry a payload weighing as much as 3,600 kilograms (8,000 pounds), about the weight of three small cars. They can fly up to 42 kilometers (26 miles) high and stay there for up to two weeks.
The Balloon Program's capabilities are being expanded with the development of an Ultra Long Duration Balloon (ULDB). The ULDB is made of advanced materials and uses a new pumpkin-shaped balloon design to achieve flights of up to 100 days. The ULDB is completely sealed and pressurized in order to maintain constant altitude night and day. The ULDB payload consists of a solar power system, radio receivers and transmitters, computers, batteries and other systems required for science experiments.

So a payload of several tons, not a few kg, and solar panels. That’s a match with the Chinese Terror Balloon..

My question was wasn't there a way for us to drop it without using a rocket I'm pretty sure we could have used RC copter.

Lots of china balloons flying over USA.i wouldn't doubt that they've been releasing a plague on the USA to make us sick or kill us. The people in the USA need to wake up. They say that medical companies have sold everyone's DNA to china.there going to make DNA war fair to kill Americans or who ever they focus on.

"Over important air force bases... " I'd like to know how close it got. If you stretch the term "over" or "near" enough, you can't fly anywhere without being "over" or "near" any air force base. I'm 100 % sure it couldn't maneuver at all and any proximity to any base is pure coincidence. No, a balloon like that goes where the wind carries it, the shape and possible propulsion makes maneuvering impossible.

Um, there's the American thing where they can drop missiles out of a cargo plane, sooo, this is their response? You don't need the plane, you have the balloon that could lazer guide the bombs... if its drifting that high up no one could detect it? it's like a slow moving cheaper b52, dunno the cost of the rig, but, rough estimate ar the higher end, cost for cost, 1 b52 would be a billion, balloon 20 million, so 1 b52 = 50 balloons?

I don’t quite understand the part about “can it see inside your windows?” Wouldn’t the imaging device (or the balloon itself) need to be level with the window in order to see in it?

You should not assume it's a spy balloon just because China is more technologically advanced in weather monitoring and you don't understand their technology. It's like saying I have a combustible-based car and yours is electric, I don't know electric cars so I believe it's a tank...

In 1998 a rogue Canadian weather balloon that was over '25 storeys' tall also fitted with solar panels flew over Russia when it got caught up in the jet stream. It was a high altitude balloon designed to monitor the ozone layer. Claiming the size of a balloon can't be a weather balloon because of it's size is just ignorance.
