Nirman //Dance Drama // Srishti Foundation Darbhanga // Group Dance // Lord Gautham Budh Story //

17th Darbhanga Dance Festival organized by Srishti Foundation Darbhanga held on 2nd April 2023 at Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University, Darbhanga Bihar. This presentation was organised by the students of the institute. There were varieties of dancers presented their dances in group and solo. In the process Nirman dance drama was also presented through abhinaya, which is the fourth part of Odissi dance, which tells the story and the life style of Lord Budha. As we know that Lord Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini in 563 BC in the house of King Shuddhodhan of the Ikshvaku dynasty Kshatriya Shakya clan. Her mother's name was Mahamaya, who belonged to the Koliya dynasty, who died seven days after his birth, and he was brought up by the queen's younger sister, Mahaprajapati Gautami. At the age of 29, Siddhartha left his only child Rahul and his wife Yashodhara, his first born child after marriage, and went to the forest at night in search of true divine knowledge and a way to liberate the world from old age, death and suffering. After years of rigorous practice, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya (Bihar) and became Lord Buddha from Siddhartha Gautam.
This dance drama based on this story was performed by Nisha Singh, Sukriti Kumari, Vidya Kumari, Tiya Rani, Shreya Jha, Shreya Mishra, Shruti Singh and Sona Dhari Singh of Srishti Foundation.
The director of this dance is Professor Guru Nabal Kishore Mishra and the dance concept has been composed by Guru Sanchikant Pradhan and Guru Jay Prakash Pathak.
