My Russian blue acts like she’s on crack

sorry but a lot of shelters simply won;t allow you to adopt if you don't have a garden and we are not rich. they need to lower their standards

Our Russian Blue never liked the indoors. Once we found out it was pregnant and it gave birth. We soon realized that it loved being outside. It has never been back in our house ever since and it loves it! We tried before to bring it back inside but it runs back out in seconds. Even our neighborhood is chill with the cat. They tend to feed it sometimes when she roams near their houses.

I have owned MANY cats in my 80 years. My Russian Blue (Sofie) is the most loving and loyal cat I have ever had.

Mine was not a lap cat until he was 8-9 years old. Now I can't keep him off me.

My sister has a Russian Blue. He's beautiful. A bit chunky at 16 lbs. My sister's cat is more stubborn.....
He wants me to love him....He will rub, lick and cuddle with me. But loves my sister. But he is a DoorDasher. He leaves when he wants to..... Then shows up later.
He does cuddle with my daughter when she's here.

I have one, and his personality is like you said in the video. He is not too much affectionate but I love him a lot, I know he loves me back

My Russian Blue, he is a lap cat, literally hugs me around my neck for 5mins after getting home. Loves all people and attention. Loves car rides, he loves going outside but stays close. He likes kids as long as they aren’t too much. He was also a terror when he was younger (4yrs) He knows three commands now and super behaved. He’s very vocal and gets mad if you watch tv or on your phone and will knock it out of your hand for your attention.

My blue is dad’s boy!! Bailey is a great cat!! He’s awesome! We keep him inside. Being 60 years old, you have watch out when you’re sleeping. He’ll get on your chest and you’ll think you’re having a heart attack. Once the purring starts, you’ll
know you’re ok!

My Russian blue came from a shelter he's 2 years old he's very affectionate very curious does zoomies in the house at 3am very food driven he's adorable

My boy is half siamese half Russian blue!he isn't shy or aloof! He came from an abused background with many health issues! We saved each other both literally figuratively! My daughter also had a Russian blue! They are one of the best cats! My boy is very vocal with a siamese temperament! I'm allergic to him we both have asthma! He won't always greet me at the door! My boy hates brushing due to past physical abuse! I hope my boy lives for 20 years! He was a surprise gift cost me nothing! He's priceless!

He is a big boy plushy toy, giggle kitty (cuz he makers me laugh) and he is a good sibling to his older brother who is a male ginger. Both awesome cats.

Well I just came across the page sorry I'm late but yes I do have a Russian blue cat and she's adorable but like you said before she only wants cuddles when she wants cuddles if I pet her constantly she gets mad at me she has a little attitude other than that she is amazing and she got along with my tabby cat cuz I have a tabby cat too At first she was skeptical but she learn to love him even though he tries to be a bully sometimes because he's much bigger than she is but she is great.

My little man is a rescue and a little chunky and blind in the right eye but he is my angel. Very talkative, and loves to be with me in the bathroom and wherever I'm chillin he has to be there too. I will always remember back in October 2019 at about 230 am I was sat on the steps outside my property in Notting Hill having a beer when a gorgeous young white clean and we'll groomed female Russian Blue came up the steps and sat on my lap for warmth.i could tell that she was from a good family. I would guess that she was about 1 year old. After 30 minutes she walked down the steps and turned left. After about 20 minutes she jumped up behind a plant pot that was behind me to my right and then jumped into my lap. She had walked all the way round the block to perform a mock execution on me. Thinking about her makes me laugh to this day. She stayed with me until about 4am. I never saw her again. I feel priviliged to of spent time with her while she was out hunting during the night. Very true about the "play kitten until 4years old." Now, she's slowing down and getting fat. I used to think, the kitten mentality was my fault, from having her spayed as a kitten. I thought she would be stuck kitten like forever. She's still obsessed with playing with hair ties and finds them, no matter where you hide them. I suggest putting your hair ties in a safe. Even if they own hundreds of thier own, they take yours.

One wondered up our driveway, poor thing was skin and bones as a kitten 😸 Never left since lol. She's growing beautifully and is an outdoor cat. We own 1 acre of land out in the country where it's really peaceful and she hides in the trees and lava rocks. Very playful with my active Weimaraner and fox terrior chihuahua dogs. She's obsessed with tuna, sardines and milk. Glad to know what breed she is and happy to give her a new home.

also my Russian blue is a total lap cat even though you just said that Russian blues are not bobcats and she loves long cuddle sessions unlike what you said when should you spay or neuter Russian blues because I need to get her spayed thanks

thank you so much your videos helping me so much I’m not even all the way through yet everything you’re telling about Russian blues is pointing exactly to my cat however my mom is making me keep her outdoors but she never has ran off to far I found her under the house and so she was a stray also is it possible that they can adapt to being outdoors I noticed that my Russian blue is very very very routine conscious and so I just wanted to ask you again can she adapt to being outdoors she has so far but I want to ask you because you know so much about them thank you so much for your amazing video by the way I might be subscribing

My mom got our kitten Russian blue cat from a litter of kittens in a shop the owner were giving them away for free so when I just found out how expensive they can be I’m like I’m so lucky my Russian blue cat non payable!

Thank you for a thoughtful overview of RB breed. I am sharing a note about my cat. Years ago we had a Russian Blue named Musya. She got lost before we moved to the United States - I think someone took her. Musya was an extremely intelligent, observant, and moderately active cat. She liked to play fetch and enjoyed climbing on the shelves and spending time on the tree & observing surroundings. She occasionally caught small rodents and birds. We let her outside for a few hours. She always returned and stuck to a routine. She did not mind children but acted carefully and did not let people mess with her. Musya loved my father the most but showed some affection to the whole family. She let family members pet her and enjoyed our company. We fed her with a consistent schedule. Musya slept near me or near my father. Briefly on interactions with other animals. She occasionally attacked other cats & stayed away from dogs & but learned to adopt and to stay safe. Musya was careful with strangers. I love our cat and hope she was in good hands when someone took her.

I just adopted a female russian blue kitten recently. She's a very nice cat and my older cat (a tabby) both get along

My Russian blue is a giant lap cat, big outdoor cat and is a hunter, but knows that killing wildlife is wrong. He also knows not to jump on tables and doesn’t need a cat tower. He also does his toilet buisness outside. I’m not insulting the video, but I’m just saying my cat is very very very very very different :)

I lost my Russian Blue recently and this video is so bittersweet. He had the best personality of any cat I’ve ever owned. He wasn’t clingy, as in, he could be left alone, but he loved being in your lap and sleeping on your bed at night.

I would beg to differ with this video.
After having a Russian Blue, and knowing two others owned by our daughters family,
I would have to say that Russian Blues are a bit psycho, self centered, have serious health issues,
and do not make anywhere near as good or loyal friend to love for years as a nice, common
American Short hair cat or loving tabby cat.

We have owned cats as pets & loved them all for all of my life.
But I will never again invest my time, care, or love on a Russian Blue .
Our Russian Blue was the most disappointing cat we have ever owned,
and we watched how this breed disrupted life for my daughter's household for years.
We experienced the same issues when we mistakenly welcomed one into our home.
The Russian Blue simply can not compare to a nice, common American tabby cat as a loving family pet.

Great video!! I got my Russian Blue cat at a Shelter when he was 4 months old. They listed him as “Grey Domestic”, I had no idea he was a Russian blue until I saw one that looked like him later. So I got a Russian blue for only $50!! He is extremely clingy and has definitely chosen me as that one person he connects to. He’s vocal, sweet, and cuddly. He definitely is a hunter, he likes to hide instead of climb, and he is very reserved around new things or people. He is EXTREMELY jealous though. He doesn’t even like me holding my pillow at night. Lol! He doesn’t like when any one else gets more attention from me. But that may just be him, idk. Lol I love him so much!!

As an additional note about the cost of a russian blue kitten, lower prices can also indicate that a breeder is trying to pass off a british shorthair with the correct coloring as a russian blue. so be careful and fully vet your breeder before agreeing to purchase if you want to be sure of what you're getting :)
