People with jobs use led or mini led , not oled .
Apple knew what they were doing in not refreshing their MacBooks with oled .
OLED is destined to get a burn in issue.
Either after one week or in 5 years.
Nothing comes close to FPS games on Oled. If u are looking to get a new monitor and u play alot of FPS and even alot of story games trust me Oled is worth the money!
If u work on your Pc tho and do alot of reading or design it gets really weird.
10 yrs! Lol, more like 4
Ответитьnah I'm skipping oled. but damn.. micro LED sounds so much better! but companies are dumb.. .and tech, is not advanced enough. well I still love my LCD IPS monitor :)
ОтветитьWhen is micro OLED expected?
ОтветитьSkip oled, wait for nueralink
ОтветитьYou are absolutely hilarious... Love this video
ОтветитьWhich glossy 27 inch oled do u prefer??? Are there any?
Ответить"Busting fat ones over OLED..." lol
ОтветитьBro please tell me what OLED tv you use for pc gaming. Bought the LG and am not happy with it cuz really bright parts of the screen looks like someone smeared my glasses with a bright hazy turd. Hilarious that I am returning the Lg oled for my 12 year old gloss 60hz no sync pls panel rofl. I want a qd oled gloss. The text fringing on the woleds is damn atrocious for 1k lel. Pls what do u use bro I need to know?
ОтветитьI was so hoping for Dual Layer LCD Technology (that is used in the best of the best Sony Reference Monitors) to be the new next thing.. Hisense showed some TVs and monitors and then nothing..
ОтветитьHow are they so slow, they must be doing this on purpose to sell cheaper to make OLEDs first? How hard is it to make micro-LED displays? What's the issue exactly?
ОтветитьLol no, don't skip out on OLED just because Micro LED will be affordable in like 5-10 years. I just bought a 65 inch LG C2 for $1396 and wow, the picture quality is amazing. I had a QLED and LCD before this, and for the first time in a long time, OLED feels like a huge leap forward. Also, burn in is the least of my concerns. Just look after it and enjoy the hell out of it. People worry too much about dumb shit and forget to live in the moment.
ОтветитьI got no shame, i'll use my shitty Dell 17" 4:3 2006 for 20 more years until I can get my hands on those shinny Micro LEDS.
ОтветитьOled is awesome
Ответитьyou cant really skip oled ... its pushed so hard, that some others new features are only available with oled screens -.-
Ответитьoleds problem for me is vrr flickering, no oled i owned didnt have it, not even one with a dedicated gsync chip...
ОтветитьWhy do you assume that the alternative to OLED is only shitty? We have QLED and that looks great. I'm not going to throw away money on an OLED.
Ответитьviewing on my pc crt
ОтветитьMost people won't ever get their hands on a Micro-LED screen of any size, Micro-LED is taking ages to miniaturize and "cheaperize" so it comes to the average consumer market, all the while emissive Quantum-Dot is nearing full production while costing pennies on a dollar, it will probably be the next big screen tech advancement instead of Micro-LED. By now I'm fully invested in OLED, already owning an OLED-powered Smartwatch, Smartphone, Laptop and TV, just waiting for the perfect OLED monitor to grab mine as well, even when emissive QD arrives, I'll probably wait 5 years or so until it matures before upgrading to it.
ОтветитьI'm not going to outright skip OLED monitor, but I am going to skip the first round of monitors. Too many catches.
ОтветитьWaiting for QNED panels from Samsung.
ОтветитьWe killed sony and it's our fault. Triluminos technology was made to make lcds concur with oled.
ОтветитьSo much oversimplification, hyperbole and essentially untruths packed in these 4.5 minutes. Stop dumbing things down, reality is way more nuanced to the point it's almost the opposite in some ways that you described it here with shallowness.
LCDs are not garbage. Not perfect, but not garbage either. I say that as an owner of a 15+ years old TN LCD who can still show stunning images today and can impress me whenever I want to.
New tech is better and will be better? Yes, but not by such a mile as one may think, and definitely not as much when we factor in many things such as cost, discarding of old stuff and countless other things.
First generation early adopter. Bet these suckers will have OLED burn-in issues in 3 years. Will wait for mature tech. They look nice but for that much money I would want a display that lasts longer than 3 years.
ОтветитьToo late, already bought one early last year. Worth the premium price.
Ответитьbro just loathes Matt displays..
Ответить'skip' oled? What a stupid title
Ответитьim waiting for samsung qned, blue microleds with quantum dots.
ОтветитьOLED doesn't seem to be a good idea when you also use your monitor for work, specially in coding where you will be staring at static lines of code for hours each day. It's only good for media consumption or just gaming and nothing else. IPS and VA can be used for both gaming and working (or whatever you may need or want to use your PC for) without any burn-in problems.
ОтветитьNo, the 27” LG oled is amazing
ОтветитьOLED screens makes my eyes go pixelated if I was looking at it for more than 30 minutes. My optometrist told me because of my type 2 diabetes and astigmatism that I'm better off with LED or LCD screens.
Ответитьthought it was DLP, Plasma then lcd?
ОтветитьWould you advise an OLED 34 - 42 inch when you also have to use it for WFH in administrative function? It's a hard decision right now.
ОтветитьMy asus rog 42 is straight fire. The
Matte finish is also a nice touch. You can’t actually see
It when your playing games in a lit room/ invisible at night… fire 🔥
I like Mini-Led gaming monitors especially if your in a bright room.
ОтветитьCan you do a review on the LG OLED FLEX. I wanna know if it’s a glossy or matte finish
Ответитьmy stupid? Idea for screens
Light HITTING the screen is a huge issue. Why can't they add a POLARIZING filter layer (not a polarizing passive film) that ONLY gets electricity for that pixel when it's told the BRIGHTNESS is below some value. For example, if you have a DARK AREA of the screen then light hitting the screen is far more obvious. So then why not POLARIZE that area so light HITS the screen but then can NOT bounce back? You would get LESS reflections back than a polarizing film without the light disortion that makes anti-glare coatings suck. Also, why couldn't they have something similar to kick in to prevent light LEAKAGE the other way on LCD screens? There's an LCD panel that allows, say, RED light from the red sub-pixel to pass through. You get unwanted light still coming through... if it's supposed to be BLACK then can't that area just automatically apply votage to a polarizer to prevent light leakage? You could get deeper blacks than a VN panel. Hell, maybe approach OLED while not having to shift the assembly lines in a major way.
Probably some good engineering reason related to efficiency, but I've never heard it discussed... I'd assume polarizing the area ALL the time to attempt to prevent ALL reflections is impractical. But couldn't they engage the filter for when it matters MOST with darker pixels?
OLED owner here... my two cents..
1) My LG G2 55" OLED has "black crush" issues. Content that is NEAR black ends up black so, for example, someone's black PANTS that should be shades of black/gray end up looking almost solid BLACK. It's a known issue. for a LOT of content I'd actually rather have a new LCD TV. And yes, we've got one in another room so I've compared a LOT.
2) REFLECTIONS - it doesn't take much light to be problematic. Even in a DARK ROOM I get reflected light off my 55" TV. If the scene is really dark it's NOT a problem. If the scene is mostly BRIGHT it's not a problem. If it's in between then there's enough light to BOUNCE OFF THE WALLS so that I can wave at myself and see it on the screen in the DARK areas... darker WALLS would help a lot. And smaller rooms are obviously WORSE.
3) DESKTOP OLED:
a) sub-pixel layout isn't ideal for small text. Matters LESS at 4K but still an issue. And current OLED Desktop monitors are only 1440p (AFAIK).
b) anti-glare: makes OLED not look as great, but as per my ABOVE comments you honestly need to be in a DARK room that has minimal REFLECTIONS off the walls or you really need an anti-glare coating.
Back to black crush... I also tested a bunch of GAMES on my 55" OLED. I spent a lot of time fussing around but the black levels were a big problem for some games. For example, in SKYRIM (LUX light mod) inside a building the FIRE looked great but the dark areas were too dark. I looked at the DOOR and on my old Dell U2711 (IPS) screen I could see the brownish/black door. It was dark but I could see it. On my OLED it was pretty much solid BLACK... I tried to fix it, but the only was to raise the BRIGHTNESS of my OLED in the TV settings which essentially turns it into an LCD (because deep black becomes light gray).
Guardians of the Galaxy however looked amazing. Although it looked similar on a high-end LCD so...
So BLACKS look great on OLED when you really WANT them to be black. And the trade-off when you don't want that isn't worth it. OUTER SPACE battles like Star Wars? Great! Deep blacks and minimal blooming. Some guy puttering around a dark room? It's a problem.
So... if you really want OLED right now, do your research. My plan was to buy my 55" OLED and then get a desktop OLED monitor. Now I'm waiting for desktop OLED to mature. 4K, less burn-in issues and much higher BRIGHTNESS.
still waiting to pull the trigger on high gloss OLED. When out?
ОтветитьThere will always be something better around the corner you’ll have to stop and enjoy what’s out now eventually
ОтветитьBrightness of Oled is meh at best, LCD with Mini-led is the next big thing.
ОтветитьGlossy oled for life! Samsung odyssey g9 49 qd-oled v.2 panel monitor when?
ОтветитьWhen you go for a good Oled display, you won’t want anything else believe me. They put va and Ips screens to shame in every way.
ОтветитьOLEDs aren’t bright enough FOR ME. The 1000-1600 nit specular highlights of a bright FALD led panel smash OLED in terms of HDR. I have tried so many OLEDs and just can’t get over how dim they look next to the PG32UQX or 27UQ.
Ответитьmicro LED isn't even down to normal screen sizes, not below 5 or 6 figure pricing. Seriuosly, your KIDS might have MicroLED monitors, but "we " won't.
Ответить‘Graphically Challenged’! You can’t fool me! I just subscribed, based off of that hunch! 😇
ОтветитьWith the burn-in issue and blurred texts, LCD/LED/TFT monitors are here to stay
Ответить
