Outstanding guys, thx. Cobra numbers are only 5-20million separators a year (based on 100k pcs. a week (5 days-40 hrs.)). Based on nearly 1000 separators per battery (24 layers per flex frame with 40 modules per battery), 1 cobra machine amounts to 5k-20k per YEAR! They need 25 cobras for 40gWh production.
I do look at my investment in QS as a VC type investment. You can’t hop in and out. If you’re out and they announce a vehicle contract…you may be paying 5 or 6x to get back in. Where else am I going to put my money and get 5x in 3-4 years from now? What does make me as comfortable, as you can be with a pre-revenue company, is their track record on meeting delivery timelines, quality benchmarks, and clearing obstacles hurdles (Ie: Flex Frame; clearly test result functional issue).
Question for you both: QS has given hints as to who the other 6 testing recipients besides VW are; “luxury brand”, “performance brand”, “pure play EV”. Any guesses/thoughts? I find it really hard to believe that Tesla is willing to risk their MASSIVE market share lead by not being in line for this absolute game changer of technology.
Hi guys, I’m interested in your thoughts about the QS 8-K filing on July 11 2024 that includes a Collaboration agreement that begins immediately (This beyond the simple IP Licensing Agreement) This collaboration agreement allows QS and PowerCo to combine efforts on the development of the Cobra manufacturing technology. This is done in a manner that protects the IP of both parties. Therefore, any resulting IP related to QS’s separator will be wholly owned by QS. This has the effect of allowing VW to infuse capital and PowerCo people into the finalization of the production process (basically a gift to QS). Note that the 40GWH production meshes perfectly with the PowerCo Salzgitter battery plant currently being outfitted in Germany.
ОтветитьThank you for covering this company! Been DCA-ing for the last 2 years, I'm actually glad the stock price hasn't taken off so I can keep accumulating more. Perhaps my money is better elsewhere but I could also miss out on a turning point if I let it go.
ОтветитьWhat is the specs of battery? Would they get 1000 km on 50 kw battery ?
ОтветитьAccording to reports from the German media (Bild), the top manager at Volkswagen (salary > 1 million per year), Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn, is involved in a potentially explosive affair. Eichhorn, who has been part of VW's top management for over two decades and has held various important positions within the group, is alleged to have secretly worked for a competitor. Bild's research reveals that Eichhorn is involved in Prime Solid Holding GmbH, a company developing innovative solid-state batteries for electric vehicles that is in direct competition with VW's joint venture QuantumScape.
Eichhorn is accused of investing his VW salary through a complex corporate structure into the competing company without disclosing this to his employer. Furthermore, he is said to have contributed his battery technology expertise to the development at Prime Solid, which is now the subject of a criminal investigation. Volkswagen has so far only stated that the matter is under internal review and no further details can be disclosed. Eichhorn denies the allegations through his lawyer.
To all investors: This means very clearly that QuantumScape's technology is groundbreaking. So groundbreaking and important that the criminal top manager wants to get a piece of the pie with his own company, Prime Solid Holding GmbH.
Dr. Eichhorn, we, the investors of VW and QuantumScape, hereby demand that you leave the VW Group immediately, and VW, we urge you to dismiss Dr. Eichhorn without delay. It appears that there is an attempt to bypass the QuantumScape investors, and this must be stopped immediately! Furthermore, Prime Solid Holding must be taken off the market under supervision!
We, the QuantumScape investors, will not be taken for fools and are preparing a lawsuit against the VW Group if it does not immediately take the aforementioned actions against Dr. Eichhorn.
To the economic press around the world: You need to make this case public! Another attempt by a top manager with a lost moral compass to bring two companies into a bad scandalous situation.
QuantumScape, a huge compliment to you: Your hard work will change the EV industry. Keep going, and do not let this scandal deter you in any way. We, the investors, have your back.
This is an ideal time to start gradually accumulating this stock. Consider buying steadily during dips for long-term gains.
ОтветитьIt's not that the company hasn't made good progress. It has. The problem (and the reason why I think the stock is tanking) is because the competition is developing non-infringing substitutes and a lot of products that can be implemented very quickly. China's Contemporary Amprex (CATL) has developed batteries that can now provide 1000km of range and are expected to last 1 million km while maintaining 85% capacity. They provide a performance warranty. QS batteries being solid state have some further advantage in terms of charge time, safety and durability, but they are not presently supplying the EV makers. So there is a big risk that even though the technology is superior, it may be too late, in relation to the competition. On the upside, I see that there is lots of potential for increased supply, so if the world market is selling 40 million EVs per year by 2035, QS may be quite profitable if it licenses its technology. There's a very real risk that there will be some kind of attrition or shakeout before 2035, in which QS technology gets dropped for something that is cheaper and easier to manufacture.
