“One gets cheap parts, and one blows up”
ОтветитьNice! Function over form with the vortex fins on low car 😎
I’d have probably fitted reverse mounted bonnet/hood scoops seeing as you fitted fmic and the scoops are redundant now anyway. They must creat a fair bit of drag. Reverse mounted ones would be more aerodynamic as well as allowing hot air to vent out of the engine bay.
Just my 2p though. Love how these are turning out
What about a mid car?
ОтветитьYo the plywood was genius! Weight will also help.
ОтветитьWhy use plywood and not plexiglass or Aluminum to make that bottom plate on the front. Cheaper than a sheet of plywood in many cases for the Aluminum
Ответитьwould never use wood for spoilers lol
Ответитьthe weight of the plywood probably gave that front end just a bit more angle lol
ОтветитьOne thing to understand for the future is that wind tunnel tests don’t scale down perfectly, even if made to exact specs as full sized functional parts what is placed on a model car isn’t going to represent what happens to full sized cars.
ОтветитьGod loves you guys!
Ответитьbetterer
ОтветитьGuys I barely started the video, im going to make a guess how many engines they blow out . My guess 2, or 1
ОтветитьHi car didn’t shave as much time as Low car, but it also started with a ~3 second time advantage. The faster the baseline lap, the less effect all the aero mods will have on the overall time as a percentage of the original time. I mean if Hi car’s original lap time was 1 second (hypothetically), and the aero shaved .1 seconds, that’d be a 10% improvement even though it only shaved .1 seconds off the original time. So the seconds shaved off each car isn’t an ideal comparison unless compared to a percentage reduction, and even then, you’re gonna expect a lower percentage reduction for each mod if you started off with a faster lap time.
Ответитьthe reason the differences or improvements were small is the fact we're taking about small compact, non race cars. rear diffusers, large wings, will only hit their efficiency at minimum 75mph to 100mph and above.
ОтветитьI've done cfd on the WRX roof spoiler Vs the vortex generator and for the subbie the stock roof spoiler works best
ОтветитьFun Fact: Both carbon fiber-reinforced plastic and plywood are composite materials. A composite material is a combination of two or more materials designed so the strengths of one will overcome the weaknesses of another.
With plywood, those differing materials are woodgrain set in alternating directions. In CFRP, the carbon fiber holds the epoxy resin together against tension and shearing forces.
LOL, mighty car mods did this ! Americans like to copy!
ОтветитьWeight reduction. Down force. Power
Ответить😅😅😅😊😅😊😊😊😊

ОтветитьI like how they knew that putting a camera in the wind tunnel immediately meant we wanna see the camera's perspective of in the wind tunnel
ОтветитьLOL If an F1 team could get 0.6secs for a mere £6000 they would love it!
ОтветитьY is Nolan always on low car?
ОтветитьSooo..... Unless ur aero kit is scientific, it's strictly aesthetic.
ОтветитьThey should do drag cars next
ОтветитьThe increase of weight is worth overall?
ОтветитьAt what speed does aero like this actually start to noticably help?
ОтветитьShould've gotten an aerodynamics expert in, high cars VG's are a terrible design, and low cars placement is terrible 😂
Ответитьit’s funny cuz the plywood was probably the most expensive piece of lo cars aero 😂
Ответитьi love how they said .. another engine xD
Ответитьto be fair high cars installment and overall looks are stunning but not worth $6000. maybe $4500 would have been a better deal
Ответитьthe plywood looked better
ОтветитьFunny that you chose plywood for the front splitter. Glickenhaus on his 2.5 million SCG003S has sacrificial plywood under the carbon fiber front splitter to protect the carbon fiber from road damage. It cheaper to replace compared to carbon fiber. Wood is not a bad idea.
ОтветитьHigh quality production videos as always Donut. You guys are unmatched ❤️
ОтветитьJeremiah’s engineering integration into all episodes of this season have been fantastic!
ОтветитьY'all did an amazing job on the wind tunnel segments. Threaded the needle of keeping it simple enough for the average viewer to understand, but in-depth enough to teach something.
Ответитьcamaro why is that true😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьYour videos are too good... I don't own a car, drive a car, know anything about cars, care about cars... Why have I been watching your stuff on spam, enjoying it, and learning... a lot. Props.
ОтветитьHello, we are doing a challenge, we failed, but we dont give up, but we failed again, but we are still going, and we failed once again, and we might fail some more, bye! 👋
ОтветитьLow Car for the win!
ОтветитьReal cool video and surprising Low car won! One note i'd like to point out; if you have a sports car and you genuinely track it, yea aero is cool. But 9/10 times out on the street? You got fools doing this just for show, and adding crap on a car just for show plain annoys me LOL. Two cents.
ОтветитьShould have tried the low car aero mods on high car and vise-versa. It could just be that the physical geometry of high car is pushed closer to its limits due to the other mods.
