seems like you adapted really easily to the pad layout for playing notes, ive had mine for a while and i still dont feel like i can rly "play" it when it comes to using it to play software instruments

Solid as always Jeremy, teenage engineering content aside you tend to have a similar taste to me in terms of using modular and traditional, hardware and software etc. Either way I’ve enjoyed your content a great deal .😊 I have mk 1 push and similarly have struggled. I think like any tool it’s about how much you are willing to invest in it in terms of how it meets your needs. Im still on ableton 10 and push 1 and will probably keep it that way and rely on my hardware to make the meat of what I do.
I like ableton but have always used it in a more counter intuitive way and mainly used it for mixing outside gear and occasionally midi sequencing external stuff too as opposed to using it in session view with multiple clips and layers etc. I feel like I like ableton despite ignoring what it’s good at which is why I think I probs ly ned to learn push and get better at quick recording clips etc. Agree re wavetable, fkin great.

I have been using the free suite for Ableton 11 and no sign or 3rdeyez or whatever that's called. Anybody know why?

I don't think pushes actually meant to be used without a mouse. Everybody seems to talk about it is it it was designed that way, but using push without in mouse just limits a ableton. Push is still only a midi controller.

The bass is sharp so makes any instrument you add on top sound flat. Great vid!

It was groovy seeing you go through the paces on that device, midi control surface, that has something of an ability for MPE midi2. I just bought the original version push and the push 2 and a maschine studio to try to map as various realtime surfaces perhaps to try to add to also using a jamstik studio midi guitar that does MPE, and need to find a way such as calkwalk as a workaround for MPE synth and recording abilities, because fl studio still lacks MPE.
Ableton LIVE 11 has a limited MPE ability compared to some of the others listed that are MPE ready. Midi2 standard really helps bring out the feel of a real instrument and it records as such.

I have a Push 2 and I found the best set up is to jump back and forth between the Push 2 display and your PC/Mac display. I wish they would add the ability to map macros and LFOs from the Push.
Also trying to switch out an instrument, I have to use the hot swap feature in Ableton otherwise Push 2 will overwrite the whole chain (I group my instrument chain in order to quickly hide/show/and copy.)

The best features are easily the macros mapping automatically to the knobs, the built in sequence, and the ability to see a visualizer for stock Ableton plug ins. I've used the Novation Circuit as a controller but the latency and mapping were a pain in the ass when moving to a new project even with templates.

as with others it's great to see people 'fumble about'....even if it may be the routine.....but one thing ....as i'm trying to rediscover push 2 let's all pray for push 3 to have those 8 controllers on the bottom rather than top next time...who was the ergonomic consultant?...baboon maybe....coz reachin' o'er a device takes away visibility e'time alongside woeful body positioning if you're not using in a live playing situation....
