About 10% of women have endometriosis, yet molecular subtypes and non-hormonal therapies have yet to be defined, leaving tens of millions of women around the world suffering. At MIT, scientists in Biological Engineering are working with surgeons around the world to define molecular subtypes related to immune and invasion networks using a combination of experimental and machine learning approaches. Patients are then reconstructed from tissue biopsies, to test the mechanistic hypotheses about new non-hormonal therapies.
