It‘s also the flexibility I guess. I thought about if a format like Joe‘s Podcast could be interesting to watch on TV, but first of all I‘d have to adhere to a schedule, because probably it would get a fixed weekly spot AND I‘d have to endure advertisement breaks every once in a while, which would already be annoying if it would be just a ten minute block each hour compared to what it is actually today…
So no, Long Formats can‘t save TV at least in my humble opinion.

People are lazy though. They wait to be spoon fed information and too many people not only believe what they are told, but they invest themselves in the narrative and aggressively defend it. The burden of proof is then on anyone else who was told something different. When every truth is a matter of debate, we’re in for trouble.

People who watch podcasts where people talk for hours on end arent going to watch two people discuss things they don’t agree with.
If I’m against abortion (just an example, not a personal opinion) I’m not gonna listen to someone from Planned Parenthood talk about all the good they do because I would see it as lying.
If I was a democrat I wouldn’t listen to any Pro-Trump host/guest talk about the good things he did while in office.
We will consume biased media and therefore get the story we want instead of the story that’s real

TV sound bites are so shallow, really annoying, and useless. These stupid sound bites are propaganda driven and are just fillers for the endless series of commercials—cause that’s how these overpaid talking heads get paid. I’ve never seen a conversation be SO interesting that they decided to SKIP the commercial; it would NEVER happen. That’s how you know what their priorities are ($$$$).

I'm 53 and have not watched television in nearly a decade.

I 1000% fully agree! When I first found out that the video clips shown by CNN were heavily edited to fit their narratives and manipulate viewers, I got so crazy mad at them, blaiming them for all the past anger I had toward certain personalities just because I trusted and believed them. But O am glad I found out what a bunch of manipulative liars they are, it helped me to not jump into conclusions right away and to always take everything media reports cautiously and do more research on the issues.

Idk most people on the whole are pretty dumb. Watching shows like this helps people break out of stupidity, willingly, with a more lasting effect because of their general curiosity. As people tend to more easily retain what they are interested in especially if it's presented in a way where they get to decide what the information means to them individually.

The truth matters. I'm old, disabled, and I probably won't be around to see the death of the Mainstream Media. But! I'm rooting for death, in this case.
