help the microphone is set to 0 and when i try to put the volume up it just instantly gets back to 0 how do i fix this

Adjusting the format setting to 2 channels and highest frequency did the trick for me. Thanks! I can't believe none of the official guides had anything to say about that.

Not helped. I was hoping for some trick to recover the mic boost option. My friends cannot hear me on Win 11 Discord and on Win 10, same hardware, everything worked fine.

Didn't help me figure out my Rode usb mic (needs 100% gain to be audible but distortion just from the lower strings on a classical acoustic guitar is horrific), but this is a great video for showing people how to get to the old settings panel and device manager which in the past have been the only solution for me - I can't believe people downvote this, it's like blaming your mechanic for a thump in your car when it's your suitcase bouncing in the back. Apparently our problem isn't caused by windows settings, that's all, don't downvote!!

I dont' have 2 channel anything. I have 1 channel cd and 1 channel dvd quality. I have it set to Dvd quality.

It wont let me change input volume it just goes right back to 0

When Im using the web version on discord the mic volume is fine, but as soon as I switch to the discord app or any other app like zoom my mic lvolume is barley hearable.
Any suggestions?

Nothing helped, and I'm sure it's not my earphones microphones fault as I've plugged it into my, phone and Chromebook and recorded my voice and it sounds great. However, when I try the same on my pc the audio sounds so low and there's this noise that plays over it which sounds similar to rain, or when a tv channel loses signal and turns grey and makes that iconic noise, I don't know how else to describe it

Seems like Windows 11 is far from ready for release yet it was released. What a mess.
I've not tried Windows 10 much but replaced boot drive on my old pc with it.

Ever since I've updated mine to windows 11, my condenser microphone kinda messed up but the microphone in my laptop still works fine but it's kinda sh*t. I'm kinda regret updating mine to windows 11.
