Let's be completely honest. I think the change should be looked at from top to bottom. I think it starts at the the very top. With the AD, then trickles down to the HC. That's the hardcore truth. We are 3 seasons in with Pry. You can't blame the OL coach or the DB coach for not calling time outs in the game. Or for other in game mistakes made by this staff. I am not sold on Babcock or Pry. I will forever be a Tech fan. But at some point everything including AD should be looked at. The program has been on a steady decline honestly since Beamer retired. That's the simple truth. At what point is the AD responsible???

The culture today is about getting paid. Kid is a productive starter, they'll see if they can get a better NIL through the portal or see if the threat of going to the portal will boost their current NIL to stay put. Other kids just want playing time if they haven't been able to climb the depth chart after a couple years. College football is nothing more than semi-pro farm leagues. There is no school loyalty, pride, or work ethic. The bottom line IS the bottom dollar. It's the era of "show me the money" in college athletics.

Just spend 15 million to get a bunch of ballers. Its the only way to get good again 😂

Looking at the depth chart, the team won't be better. Beyond any transfers coming in...the majority of the depth charge seems to be freshmen and sophomores

First the portal. The total number of players entering the portal isn't shocking or concerning to me, however the number of starters or back ups that are entering the portal are of concern and speaks to a deeper issue. I don't think the problems at Tech have quite reached the level seen under the coach who shall remain nameless (who preceded Pry), but when starters and backups who get playing time are jumping into the portal to me signals something amiss with the coaching staff/culture. As pointed out, my biggest concern is with the gaps that need to be filled along the O-Line. As far as the bowl game, My wife and I have attended every bowl game Tech has played in since 2016. After we met, our first weekend date was to the Belk Bowl when Tech played Arkansas so going back to the Duke's Mayo Bowl this year is very nostalgic for us, however although we aren't a complete no-go this year, given the starters who are entering the portal and the NFL prospects who will likely opt out, I don't have any desire to attend a game that repeats what happened at the Pinstripe Bowl vs. Maryland when it seem like all of the starters, except Khalil Herbert opted out and it was a HORRIBLE showing for Tech. It's expensive to attend these games between travel costs, hotel costs, game tix, and eating out, etc, to not have the team that you've seen all year play, to likely get beat badly by a team that has more scholarship players playing is unfair to the fans who are spending their hard earned money to attend and support.

Make final NIL payments after the bowl game so those who opt out miss out on $. Make NIL deals that provide for bowl game bonuses. Set the NIL deals so that VT players are incentivized to stay out of the transfer portal and stay with VT another year.

Curious that Layth Ghannam wasn't mentioned in discussing our O line next year. Was clearly cracking the starting lineup before the injury in mid Oct but should be counted on to be a starter next year. Chaplin and Moore going into the portal is a big red flag to add to our red flag collection about this training wheels coaching staff.
