Seems to be a little complicated to build an engine that should be simpler to time and build. The manufacturer only wants the dealership to handle this. Looks like a lot of diesel engines have to go to the dealer with the computer systems and programming only available at the dealer level. Having built a lot of Cummins, Cat and Detroit diesel engines I think that they are becoming overcomplicated and costlier for the consumer.

Most impressive ingenuity Christian.

If I may make one suggestion, it is to wash the engine block crank-case and cylinders with hot soapy water after degreasing it. This ensures that any grit from honing and machining, is washed out of the macroscopic voids in the cast surfaces. I washed my block twice on my Rover V8, along with a vigorous hosing.
The bores start to rust as soon as they are dried, but a quick squirt of WD40 soon stops that and surface rust wipes off with an oily rag.

Wow I really enjoy this so much information, if I worked for you I'd probably have been going crazy but the lessons and knowledge is worth every bit of it , everything you do it precise it's like building a racing engines, everything you do makes sense , because the more accurate the better it runs and lasts amazing

What is apparent as with my wife as well, we could not do anything without their constant positive re-enforcement 😀 I love the way you work, you both bring something to the table as with most successful couples😀 Engineering skills are fantastic and I have tool envy with regards to engineering tools.

Only change piston and Crank. How about valves and guides?
