I keep that exact load for drone hunting! Same shotty, too. Great minds think alike...
ОтветитьThis is '#4 shot'.
How is this different from #4 birdshot or #4 buck shot?
This is definitely a devastating wound. Even if you took a side shot through the arm your going to the hospital 😅 massive blood loss.
ОтветитьGood job 🎉enjoy your video thanks
ОтветитьWould love to see some of your penetration videos re made using clear ballistics gel..
ОтветитьShould try Lead BB size shot which is an excellent coyote load.
ОтветитьDear lord, people get it in their head they need 3 inch #00 buck to keep themselves safe but as much of a hammer as that is it just zips through the target. #4 absolutey gives me goosebumps in a close quarters home defense role. Imagine the sheer carnage thatd leave on a living soft target, just kinda ...meat grinders a hole into them. Gross.
ОтветитьYou know the bad thing about rabies with skunks is there's no vaccine for skunk rabies, which is scary as hell😂😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьPenetration is irrelevant in this test. Bad guy is done.
Ответить3" mag. #4 turkey is best for home defense. Period!!!!
ОтветитьNumber 4 buck is best for home defense.
ОтветитьThe primer on a federal round fires better than Remington or Winchester rounds, according to my experimentation. Fewer misfires.
ОтветитьSmall game? It is a good turkey load
ОтветитьWinchester just came out with a 12 Gauge Defender #2 Lead Duckshot 1 1/8oz home defense load. Would love to see how it performs compared to this
ОтветитьWouldn’t get past the ribs consistently, not for use against people.
ОтветитьJust another great video showing the sufficient effectiveness of birdshot at home defense distances!
ОтветитьWell, that's nice to know. I've loaded mine with #1 lead shot. Not buckshot, #1 birdshot. Each pellet weighs twice as much as a #4 birdshot. I feel comfortable with that.
ОтветитьThis load is trouble for rabbits if you’re close.
Ответить10 years old and this is one of the best tests I've seen to date.
Well done.
I bet that #4 could be used for self defense
ОтветитьCan I shoot this out of my tb12?
ОтветитьI have serious doubts that if a dirtbag breaks into your home and you hit him once in the chest with number 4 shot that there's gonna be any fight left in him.
ОтветитьGreat video answered my question for #4 shot for home defense
Ответитьyeah....if I was a bad guy.....I'd definitely NOT like to be shot with 4 shot. I do reloads and load a lot of 4 shot for field loads. I wouldn't be scared to use this as home defense now, seeing the penetration without OVER penetration. It would definitely deter someone meaning harm for sure....
Ответитьwhat is all that background sound? Snakes?
ОтветитьI use Seller & Belot 12 gauge 2 3/4 inch #4 Buckshot on the property and Aguila 12 gauge 1 3/4 inch Mini Shell buckshot for in building self defence. Both are low recoil.
ОтветитьAt 10 ft any shot is still a slug. It hasn't had time to expand.
ОтветитьI own a Mossberg 590SP and am quite happy with the dependability of the 590.
Ответить2 3/4" HV (1550fps) 3 shot is what I found on sale last time, so that's what I grabbed. Have some slugs and buckshot on hand too. I always do the candycane thing anyways...
ОтветитьThis stuff is going to turn about 10 lbs of meat into literal hamburger in whatever unlucky SOB gets hit with it.
ОтветитьA bit late here, but excellent test. i use the exact same load for home defense, except #2 shot out of a Remington 870 Wingmaster with 18" police barrel. I live in a townhouse with neighbors on both sides so I feel this load offers great performance and would be very nasty without having to resort to 00 buckshot which would run a considerable risk of overpenetration.
ОтветитьGreat test. What about BB's ?
Ответитьtnoutdoors9. Good review. I keep number 4 shotshells handy for home defense. My prefered round indoors is number 4 buckshot but one has to be aware of what's beyond the target and where any errant pellets may wind up stopping. Thank you for this good review. By the way as others here have noted you are missed on YT. Hope that you're well.
ОтветитьGod, 25 pellets in the buckshot?????
ОтветитьFlight control wad plated #4 penetrates probably twice as far.
ОтветитьOHYEA doo a video on 3 inch remington nitro magnums 4shot.... the oz shot is 1 7/8 ,,,, and they kick soooo hard, i wanna see the gel block penetration and damage.. PLEASE lol
Ответитьtry doing shotgun shellls test with a big piece of pork ribs in front of the gel block???? starting from 8 birdshot,,,, to these same number 4 birdshot,,,,,, buckshots,,,,,,,, slugs,,,
ОтветитьWould be nice to see BB size shot Hornady has a Coyote load should be a great self defense load.
ОтветитьThose armadillos are gonna be sorry they tried diggin my yard up.....
ОтветитьYes sir...#4 is my home defense load...wicked. Will Penetrate a hollow core door at 50 yards
ОтветитьGet er done baby!!!
ОтветитьSo #4 shot will fuck you up at a distance, good to know.
Ответитьthankyou very much from Canada
ОтветитьDid tnoutdoors9 ever do any testing on 12 gauge BB shot?
Ответить13 gauge make your chest look like pizza. Jesus that’s some power.
ОтветитьY is everybody so interested in the power of these shells to kill someone.
ОтветитьIt will make for a very bad day up close for social work
ОтветитьDo these people not realize it takes. 13 Ar.15 bullets to put as many .22 rounds down range as a shotgun with a 4 shot high powered shell? Of course they don't.
ОтветитьThank you… Thank you very much
Ответить#4 IS birdshot. Not to be confused with #4 Buckshot.... which obviously isnt birdshot. Youn should have also tested it with some thing leather to represent skin and some denim or cloth clothing to see how.much penetration that takes away. It will be significant.
If I couldnt find buckshot, #2, BB T etc would be my first choice.
