Easy when you was born in a country without a language so Belgium speak many: dutch, some schools you learn only french, some schools you learn french and spanish, english and even german and even the "native" belgian (flemish) really rare but older people still know and some youngsters learn too, it happens in Switzerland too, I have a swiss friend who learned 6 languages AT SCHOOL, he knows sweden, german, english, spanish, dutch and french
