Inside a solar powered rotator

These things are designed to rotate things like "wind spinners" and other reflective ornaments when the sun is shining.

The construction is very simple. A very beefy solar panel - 280mA at 2V in bright sunshine, and a geared motor with a belt drive (probably for quieter operation) and some basic gearing to a fairly rugged brass output shaft.

The solar panel seems quite good, and could be useful for replacing an existing damaged one on a classic single NiMh cell solar light. Noting that the 280mA in sunlight is quite high, so risks overcharging small NiMh cells.
