Hard to believe sometimes that warg riders could lose the battle considering they have more offensive power as both rider and mount can fight unlike the rohirrim.

I laugh every time Legolas is like I got this then sees how many there are and his eyes widen

This part of the Two Towers video game was such a pain in the ass.

What I love about this is that it really showed how capable the Rohirrim were.
Heavy cavalry is meant to charge knee to knee in a close formation and simply smash their way through the enemy with sheer brute force. When heavy cavalry become scattered it puts them at a real disadvantage as the bigger horses and heavy weapons means they're not as agile and can outmanoeuvred when fighting man to man.

This isn't a disciplined charge but a headlong scramble to get between the wargs and the civilians, the Rohirrim aren't in any coherent formations and fighting very personal battles. This is very much down to individual troops or small groups under junior leaders rather than large formations as they're meant to fight.

Yet despite this disadvantage the Rohirrim completely overwhelmed the Wargs and were able to reach Helm's Deep. It really shows how well trained and capable the Rohirrim are that they could succeed while at a real disadvantage

It looks like legolas stunt to pull himself onto the horse was just him dismounting in reverse

I really like how in this fight it showed how skilled rohirrim were on horse back.

Why is this the only use of Wargs? To think of how much horses help men in battle, you’d think Wargs would be utilized much more.

Dude, the sheer fact that the Rohirrim got their horses to charge straight at a bunch of giant smelly wolf-hyena-bear hybrids without losing their absolute fucking minds and bolting with or without their riders is the amazing part. Like seriously, for the horse, a warg has to the biggest nope in conceivable existence.

Most epic scene for Legolas. I remember watching it in theater and when Legolas mounted this horse i clapped , it was so badass.
