Should you buy a lightbulb security camera? I tested 10 cameras from Amazon from $20-$150.

Yea I got to review one of the Cheap cameras. OMG I threw it out. It was one of the WORST Security camera experiences I had so far.. In no way did it replace my main light. And they wanted me to use a Splitter( which I did) and I had a Smart light and it was a horrible experience. And I have been checking out Security cameras since the old 320x240 days.

Rob, for your better alternative, did you need to purchase the accessory Wyze says you need in the desc of that camera? "(outdoor use requires Wyze Outdoor Power Adapter v2, sold separately)" or did you just plug camera directly in that lightbub adapter?

Great video. Very interested in the Wyze idea but the USB Light Socket Adapter is out of stock and no idea when it will be back in stock. Any other adaptors out there?

I got the EyeToo or a white label equivalent for $15. I know it's the same because it uses the IPC360 app & has dual camera.

It's fantastic! I stuck the EyeToo in a lamp and use it to watch my porch. I record 24/7 on a 128gb sd card.

Houses in the US almost always have porch lights. Light Bulb💡 cameras are an easy way 24/7 recording without wiring anything.

I can access the app anywhere even at work.

Plus I don't have to pay for a subscription for playback like ring or wise.

I'm biased because I payed $15 and got the 24/7 recording I wanted.

To say light bulb cameras don't have uses is wrong.

Yeah well if they don't have a featured usb connection port, it/they want you to just trust them with connecting devices to your wifi thus giving them access to your wifi and thereby allowing them access to all devices on your network! With no real protection to all your information ALL!!!!!!

Great but can easily be stolen.

I stumbled upon a symenalec bulb camera a couple months ago that I scored for 8 dollars. Didn't expect it to perform that well to begin with, but damn, I was wrong. The app could be simplified somewhat, but nothing a human can't overcome. Once you master the app and it's functionality, you will be surprised at the video clarity, the human detection, the prompt notifications, easy playback of captured footage, super easy to download to your phone, HDR support, camera tracking of any movement, etc. etc... These bulb cameras are $30 brand new on Amazon, and I dare you to find a better solution at this price point. It's just must simpler to screw this into a bulb base, and be done with it. You also now have PTZ with a bright enough light that makes up for in functionality, than having a simple wyze cam located stationary above your porch light and exposed to the elements. I'm seriously impressed at what this company has built. I have since bought more for myself and to give to family members. I actually find mine at Amazon Return bins liquidation stores in my town.

I made the mistake of buying the LaView camera!!!! I agree with all that this guy said about it except, that he gave it way too high a rating. Motion tracking is a Joke, when it works. The software is very lacking across the board in all categories. One other thing they don't mention, and I think is a major Deal Killer is I bought this camera. I didn't rent it or lease it, it's mine!!!!!!! Unless you agree to let them spy on your family, during one of there Circle J...s, they reduce the function of YOUR Camera to basic!!!!!!!!! Stay Away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought a Sehmua and it's pretty good so far. Mine's in fixture that was a two bulb motion detector so I have a small watt bulb in one socket & the camera in the other on my back porch. It detects everything even on medium sensitivity so I set it to low & it can still alert a vine leaf shaking 20 ft away. I use a 125 SD card and have it record only during events. It only runs on 2.4ghz

Thanks for the review even though I i wish I would have thought about researching which light bulb cam to purchase before I actually purchased one. I got the one that connects to the IPC360 Home, to be directly pointed on my vehicle in the driveway, since my flood light ring cam is so far back in ny driveway and doesnt always pick up motion since I cannot have it on high motion detect since I'd be bombarded with notification from all the traffic amd ppl walking by, since I live on a busy street in the city. It definitely doesnt have a wide enough view but I guess it's good enough. It does guve a good amount of light on my porch and I think the light stays on while it's dark as it seems to be on whenever I go outside when it is dark.
