My Chemical Romance is my favorite band cause they're basically the band that got me into a lot of other music. I listened to a lot of rock and metal growing up because of my parents but MCR got me to like branch out into more emo, pop punk, punk rock and even like metalcore and post hardcore stuff that my parents never got into. They're the only band that I know the entire discography of and Three Cheers is 100% my favorite album.

This is so cringe thinking back on it but I had that album on CD and when I was like 17 I would come home from school every single day and put it in my boom box and just lay face down on my bedroom floor and listen to it in its entirety. Like I genuinely was going through a lot of shit back then but it's so funny that I just lied on the floor crying to MCR cause that's like peak emo 🤣

For the amount of great albums that never even made the list, I feel like this should be done as a series, maybe one or two years per video where they just go through all the metal albums of that year, make an S tier ranking and then choose their pick from those that made it to S tier. Narrowing the year down to four albums just isn't fair, and since it was all Jared's picks we didn't get a sense for what Austin may have brought to the table

A lot of people probably don’t even realise that American idiot saved green day’s career and probably one of their most important albums.

After the poor sales of warning around that time they’d become argumentative and miserable said by bassist Mike dirnt and there was a lot of negative shit happening behind the scenes with Billy Joe Armstrong calling and asking dirnt if he wanted to do the band anymore. He felt insecure, having become “fascinated and horrified” by his reckless lifestyle. Dirnt and tre viewed Armstrong as controlling.

While Armstrong feared to show his band mates new songs. Around 2003 they started to have personal discussions which resulted in a revitalized feeling among the 3 band members. They settled on more musical input from cool and tre with “more respect and less criticism”.

They were actually gonna release an album in 2002 called cigarettes and valentines but after completing around 20 songs the demo tapes were stolen. After that had been stolen the band consulted long time producer Rob cavallo. He told them to ask themselves if the missing tracks represented their best work. And Armstrong had said they couldn’t honestly look at themselves and say that was the best thing they’d ever done.

And so they moved on to spend the next 3 months writing new material which resulted in American idiot which became one of their best albums winning multiple awards. And essentially saving them disbanding

Disturbed is such an amazing band. They have so many good stuff... I really think that every song from them have this catchy brainwashing melodies... Love them... xD

This video basically tells me i got in and out of metalcore before it peaked. Most of the 2010s "core" albums I either didn't care for or have never heard before. They did not mention any of the early metalcore: Atreyu, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Bleeding Through, Haste the Day, Unearth or Poison The Well. And they didn't mention the best albums from As I Lay Dying or Killswitch Engage.
