How Accurate are FGO's Dioscuri?

Personally, I didn’t really care the final grade of the Dioscuri, they were my top 1 hated characters in all fate franchises not because they accurately wrong, not because I didn’t like design (they’re good), but because the writers made a “too way” great job on making me hate them. (My top 2 hated is morgan cause domino effect and top 3 is Artemis (who the f*ck is that brainless bimbo wannabe and where the hell is the badass goddess of hunt!!!)).
The funniest thing of all, is that Caenis was supposed to be my top 1 hated character, but when the Dioscuri appears and began to act, my mind was like “holy hell! Those guys are worse” and the more lostbelt 5 progresses, I began to respect more caenis (despite I still didn’t like him) and to hate more the Dioscuri.

I can understand how you're supposed to write the antagonist of the story not likable for the sake of satisfaction to see their downfall, but it's also bad when they're going to be playable because they should be likable for players to want to get them. And the funny part is they did too good of a job, a lot of people (me included) hate their guts. I mean, at least Pollux we summoned is nicer but Castor? F*** that guy! I'd use any "inferior" ST Sabers over them in a heartbeat (And I don't have them yet, so I never have to decide it) in fact, I still have Musashi as my top ST Saber, and Trung Sisters if I want to use ST Arts Saber.

Other commented it as well but believe the design you were drawing a blank on may be either the design on her abdomen or laurel wreath crown.
Also i have no clue how the hell i completed their interlude without actually ever pulling them but definitely remember having done so sometime within the year.

What’s even weirder is that nobody in game questions the gender flip at all.
I know it’s joked that everyone’s used to it by now but even then there’s at least a brief mention like with Danzo. But Dioscuri?

It’s not mentioned at all. It’s as though Pollux actually is just female in FGO’s universe.

The whole situation between theseus and helen could have been a better justification for the avenger class.

I hope someday we'll get Helen and Clytemnestra as servants because it will be interesting to see their interaction with Castor and Pollux

Not surprising since she is also the same one who handle most of Rome related servant minus Nero which is handle by Nasu only when she's in Extra game/Extra storyline in FGO, Constantine is probably under Higashide's responsibility.

in my opinion as good as atlantis/olympus are, a lot of the servants that appeared in there didnt have a good impression, alongside caenis and the dioscuri i remember disliking odysseus a lot too(despite liking their designs)
i think the writers knew that the nasuverse has a lot of (both human and servant) hateable characters and wanted to make them stand out a little but they ended up pushing the envelope a little too hard while not giving us enough reasons to actually enjoy them at first

Regarding why Castor is an Avenger, even within PHH he claims to be against humanity for turning him from divine to mortal.

This is because even if the (more recent) consensus is that he's from Tyndareus, some versions make Pollux son of Tyndareus too (like the Odyssey) and others make Castor ALSO son of Zeus (specifically the Hesiodic Catalogue). Considering they're also Syncretizing the twins with the older versions of the nameless twin gods, they went with "legends transformed Castor into a mortal after the fact", something close to Innocent Monster.

You seem to have told the nicest version of the Dioscuri's death, since they didn't kidnap any bribes, but it still seems like it was entirely their fault. They accepted an eating contest, and they lost it. But they wouldn't keep their word and tried to steal the cows anyways. And when they got caught, fought, and lost, they were bailed out by Big Daddy Zeus. I don't think Lostbelt Dioscuri are really out of character.

Nice video as always!! By the way, they come back in the main story during the Avengers Ordeal Call, so we may get some more from them in the future. Asides from that I also don't think they have much more going on.

I think that the original Dioscuri are hateable enough, they are fundamentally just macho men that kill things really well and steal cattle. Making a pair of brutes that only respect strength would have worked enough, sure they are also protectors of sailors, but their main point Is to murder people

Castor trades sword blow with Heracles during the Argo so tht could explain the saber class (even though Pollux use the sword.)

One thing I just noticed that I really like is that Castor is the ome who mentions that their love for each other is what makes them shine in the night sky. It must have been such a powerful moment to hear your brother choose you over inmortality

Even though you had a bit of a hard time I do think the video ended up really well! lots of fun little additions, coverage was good, and even got them some time to tell us about their good side. The result is really fun to watch still!

One funny fact is that how they are portrayed with their VAs, with Maaya Uchida (older sister) and Yuuma Uchida(little brother) because IRL, Maaya is known being a brocon towards her brother, and with FGO having Yuuma voicing Castor and Maaya for Pollux, you get a hefty role reversal

the fifth symbol on Pollux' valentines cookie is the pattern on her top. Specifically the black part over her belly. So it's just a reference to the design itself rather than the mythology.

Also fun fact their situation is explained in the character material books essentially castor and Pollux are the rappresentation of the ancient twin gods archetype that later do to the story of castor and Pollux assumed their proprieties in essence they both are the ancient gods and they got reincarnated later as castor and Pollux do to them gaining thoose names essentially castor got the short end of the stick and got no divinity in the process cause of the legend of him having no divinity being more popular leaving Pollux with the divinity (altho skills Preaty much pimply the loss of divinity is more a suppression than loss to their noble phantasm and skills) on their side also the description of their noble phantasm which not only is a series of combos but also temporarily raises their parameters near the status of when they were actual gods and their strength becomes quite high to the point defense and evasion is almost impossible(the reason for invuln pierce on their np). Also character material book confirms the version of events where castor died first u can see also by their madness enhancement which only Pollux has in which she goes nuts if castor is too hurt

Well...an event where the Dioscuri appear, was at the beginning of the Halloween event with CinderElly and Zenobia. They were in the spirit of Halloween, happily giving candy to the child servants and being nice to them, especially Castor

Something neat that you didn't bring up about their NP is how when they charge forward Castor is glowing blue while Pollux is glowing orange. These are the exact same colours that their stars glow when observed from Earth.

It's a little thing but as an astronomy nerd it is one that brings a smile to my face to see.
