May i ask something? Is it good when i sing lazy. I mean, i already know how to sing but i feel like i don't want to sing and just being lazy.

I started practicing a bit of voice acting, here and there, using mostly my natural voice. Once in a while, I'll make it deep and raspy, or try to talk like a little kid, if it fits the role, but for the most part it's about natural voice mastery. It's really helped me figure out how I should sound for different emotions.

When I started singing and trying to learn about emotions, I looked up a bunch of stuff. One thing I heard was that Sinatra was a master of singing the lyric. I didn't really understand that at the time. When I started voice acting, that's when I grasped it, because a skit is going to sound terrible without emotion, worse than a song, since you can sing in pitch with perfect timing with no emotion and have it sound decent. In the skit, I have to look at who I am talking to, what I am talking about, then try to match the intended mood or the skit. It's helped me a lot. I don't know if others have had similar experiences.

Excellent teaching. I get it and can make changes/enhancements in the right direction. I am finding that you must record to observer the emotion you are adding.

Singing with correct technique made my singing boring, i'll practice with more emotions.

I actually have a very emotional voice just by singing normally. I apparently make atleast one person cry wen I sing. Could be a bad or a good thing💀

I sing correctly but always I feel that that emotion is Missing and I try to give the emotion to the song but it just doesn't happen even I try to feel the songs but I just can't as my heart is broken so it has become feeling less it doesn't try to feel anything what do I do?

Needed that when I was doing a radio show here at home. I........sounded......like..........a........robot...Lol. When i was talking. lol. And sound like a kid on top of that. 😆

My problem is I put more emotion into songs I don't relate to that much? Like it's so weird, And then songs I really really relate to I can't put any emotion into. Anyone else have this problem?

Good tips, Freya. I am the person you described - technically correct when I sing but boring! I find I am a lot more emotional after a couple of drinks, haha. So, you are right, I need to shed my inhibitions and learn to take some risks, and not worry about what people will think.

I sing and I have emotion but I didn't know until a little small girl said that I sang really sad emotional.

Hi Freya, I'm from the Philippines and I'm 17 years old, i just want to ask How can I fix my voice if it is tired and cracked? I couldn't sing for months because of this

When I 'actually' sing, without external critique, oftentimes I find myself too emotional. I'm 37, and just started recently singing. When I hit the right note or it starts to get good I start to think how others may agree, and feel some connection with me/it. It's hard to make myself vulernable (ptsd/Festinger's 1957 type stuff). It makes me tear up, and I have to stop.

Big problem for me is when i hit the high notes or something very emotional for me that has meaning to it i want to cry like a baby so i try and avoid that like a plague. because it doesn't look good unless you are already a well known celebrity then it's okay and you can get away with it without much of a problem.
But being a new artist it's the last thing you want to do 😒

I came here from the search bar. I was looking more into the technical detail, like how low, and how high the tune of voice usually is, or how abrupt the change of tune becomes. The volume/loudness is not a problem for me.
