Why Humanity Must Overcome Religion | Carl Sagan

A good beginning has a developing middle and a rational end. The philosophy is seeking how to generate environment for good beginning to give the social evolution a local inhabitants and a name. Both science and philosophy are striving fourth with methodical knowledge,which value collection of logical data.

God is not showing intentionally direct evidences (as atheists want) because He wants to see our free choices, how much we love perfection (100% goodness, wisdom, justice, pure love....) and how much we detest evilness=stupidity.
- If/when we will have direct evidences of God, as atheists want, then we ALL will have immediately interested love regarding our Heavenly Father, but now, the really good humans, who love God/Jesus only from the revelation of the truth, can prove their true love for Divinity, for perfection, while living here with 100% freedom.

All evil has been done because of stupidity and the main/worst stupidity has always been to not listen by God/Jesus.
In particular, for mankind, if ALL people (over history and nowadays) would have followed the main commandment from Jesus Christ, besides to love / respect our Heavenly Father, to love / respect (care for) the other humans as we love / respect (care for) ourselves, all the crimes and the tremendous useless suffering would have never happen. As Jesus has said: "Be perfect therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect" Matthew 5, 48
Unfortunately, too many people have refused over history, and too many still refuse nowadays, to follow this.

intelligent man as sagan was, it is not the same as wisdom. he had no awareness that this is the lowest kingdom, and the point of any faith is to provide a context in which humans can aspire to be something better and thus escape this ultimately doomed world of pain. but of course humans being naturally corrupted by their lowest animal instincts inherently corrupt any such organised faiths.

Much of religion does not care at all about the less fortunate. Right wing religious institutions in the US have no empathy for anyone who is different from themselves.

I think Sagan is wrong. I had a near death experience and found out there's a lot more to the universe than what we experience on a daily basis. Beyond that are the numerous equations that define the universe -- why would an accidental universe have precise parameters? How would a Big Bang occur accidentally?

if there is a god, I think this god sent trump to test the religious people if they knew the difference between right and wrong or good and evil and 10's of millions of trump supporters FAILED test three times in eight years.

What al these “ intelligent” scientists cant grasp is that religion is one of the pillar of human existence. Science will never ever replace God, just get used to it. Science is just a story full of assumptions about reality. For the most part it is a religion.

Science aids in the building of the bombs that blow up buildings with people in the buildings. Reason must embrace humility and reverence in light of our fragility. Unhealthy religion blows up buildings. Healthy science flies us to the moon. Unhealthy science partners with irrational forces of unfettered greed and power. Healthy religion is tempered by reason and humility. Sagan was comfortable with ambiguity as an ever-present edge of the search for truth. He made sharp distinctions without being polemical and closed minded.

The apostle Paul defines faith as ‘the substance of things look for and the evidence of things not seen’
In other words, faith is not the belief in something despite the complete lack of evidence. Science, for example, only has a partial knowledge of the universe, yet science moves forward believing more knowledge will come. Science itself follows a more mature definition of faith as defined by the Apostle Paul. Sciences is not incompatible with faith, but is a facet of it.

OVERCOMING THE PSYCHOLOGY OF RELIGION !
Indeed, but few remember WHY we created Religions ! The Human Race is still suffering Hereditary Post Traumatic Stress, from the "Electrical Cataclysms" that hit Earth 6,000-8,000 years ago. Hardly surprising when you hear IEEE (The official Science Institute for Electricity) Scientists, telling us that maybe as much as 90% of ALL life on our planet was destroyed during that era. This is the era of course where terrifying stories (from all over the World) talk of, Great Floods, Mountains vanishing, Supersonic winds, Great chasms appearing in the crust, Volcanoes on a scale that dwarf anything today etc. And even Thunderbolts from the Gods (Electrical lightning bolts from space). Yes the whole inner solar system was in Chaos, not just Earth !!!!

As a result of that ongoing terror which possibly lasted at least a thousand years, creating ongoing Psychological fear for so many generations. That left a deep seated trauma in all of us. Which is why the human race keeps trying to relive those terrifying events, in our inexplicable need for "war", and goes round and round in repeated cycles. Until we learn the true nature of what actually occurred, burying that issue simply will not go away. Mankind is potentially doomed unless it can offload that trauma, once and for all !

THE VISUAL REMAINS OF ELECTRICAL CHAOS
The events that occurred in the inner solar system were electrically based chaos. Those Inter-planetary electrical events were the cause of Mars seriously damaged surface. Such as Valles Marineris, the biggest canyon in the solar system, and far too big for a small planet. The 80,000ft high "Mons Olympus" mountain bigger than any mountain in the Solar system. The missing 5 mile depth of the Northern hemisphere of Mars, and the huge "Debris fields" of rock that fell from space as a result. Indeed most of the Meteorite rock found on Earth is now identified as bits of Mars.

So what went on. Crudely Venus & Earth were playing electrical football with Mars. As none of the inner planets had reached their current orbits, and were jostling electrically to balance themselves. All this was a result of the huge Gas Giant Saturn arriving in the Solar system, which as you might imagine would upset anyone, and everything !!!

Humanity watched the chaos and virtually every civilisation and even tribes, recorded what they saw. So we have huge quantities of recorded information, which today many Scientists (but not all) like to palm off simply as "Mythology". Another big mistake in my book !

The Problem with scientific mind is not accepting the human limitations. Completely rely on 5 senses whereas reality may exist beyond the 5 senses for example our ears can't pick radio signals this does not mean radio signal do not exist, once we use gadgets that pick radio signals and transform into hearing frequency than we accept
