That reporter sucks.

Something in the tone and attitude of the presenter said he couldn't care less about the people or their pigeon-racing passion or hobby. Typical white man's attitude when they set out to see and interview people in foreign lands and cultures. Anyone with even a bit of culture themselves would have been overwhelmed by the priceless family heirloom that was given him by his hosts. But it takes culture to understand culture and value hospitality offered without expectation of reward or reciprocation.

FYI in my country Indonesia, we compete pigeons in a race 1 vs 1 and the competition has a few obstacles. Pigeons can strike from the sky with the female as the target. The speed of strike almost like a peregrine falcon.

Correction, pigeon racing first started during the Greek Roman era, in Europe . The Europeans further developed the sport when immigrants first came to America they brought their homing pigeons with them . After many years the military took notice then during the 1st and 2nd WW the homing pigeon was utilized. The most famous homing pigeon that saved the ‘Lost Battalion ’ during 1st world war or 1918 was Cher-Ami today he sits at the Smsithsodiam Institution.

This would have been a great documentary if it wasn't for the host and making it all about him.
