I've thought about having limb lengthening surgery to address my 5'11" (180 cm) stature. It is unpleasant, has a lengthy recovery period, and is somewhat costly (at least $75k). I'm not sure if it's worth it. I grew up in Turkey, and I don't recall the Turks having the same fixation on height as Americans do. Although I don't understand it, it appears to be a phenomenon that is mostly found in the US and the UK. It makes me grateful that I was able to experience and grow up in a society where a man's worth is not based on his height.
