I know a guy who got close to one of his students after she had a breakdown, he gave her his number and told her she can reach out to him whenever she needs to talk to someone. The 13 yr old girl did reach out and they became “friends” eventually he groomed by buying her stuff, and they both had a 2 month “relationship”. Thankfully her classmates noticed the weird interactions and they reported it to the school authorities. That guy is free on bail but I know justice will be serve for all involved. He’ll go jail soon I hope and pay for all he did.

My grandparents home became a play ground for my uncle because there was always my cousin's more girls than boys. I was told when I was 22yrs old that it was too late to do anything about it.

My husband and myself go for breakfast out to the same coffee shop every day with our 3 year old.
Since 3 weeks an old man started to casually give her a flower from the garden once in a while and it develop to everyday bringing her something, each time more elaborated. He comes, drop his present and goes very casually...he doesn't even talk to her. Drops the little thing and goes to his table.

Today we test to ask him not to give her things every day, and he tried to fight it... casually saying that yesterday was Sunday and and he doesn't see her on Sundays!!!

I would disagree with this- because IF this is true then every parent or relative is guilty of so-called "groming" behavior. Furthermore, given that much of pedophilia occurs within the nuclear family, much of this is inapplicable. Rather, this concept of "grooming" may be innocuous or it may not depending on the specific circumstances.

I was groomed by a teacher in the 90s. Age 14. He took me outside the classroom for silly errands with him at least once. And so much more. He threatened to use corporal punishment on me and it’s illegal in my state. Looking back I know it was about power control and sex. I told him no and you’re not allowed. Because he knew I would say something maybe he didn’t go further. He acually asked me if I would like it. He has a special nickname for me even when I told him to stop. He paid me all he attention groomed victims get. He also showed me a photo of a former female student he said is one of his old favorites (another sign of a pedophile). I believe I was groomed and luckily when he saw I would fight the first big contact he stopped a little. I’m scared even now to come out because he is still important part of community and more than a teacher

After meeting my son's new middle school teacher, my friend asked me
what I thought of him.. I said. "he did not look me in the eye. I don't
think he likes women. I think he is a pedophile." I did not know why I
said that last thing, having never knowingly been faced with a
pedophile or contemplated pedophilia at all. It just came out of my
mouth. Over the next year, I noticed many strange things about that
teacher, as if my brain was watching out subconsciously. He had pizza
delivered to his classroom for male students during lunch period. He
offered money to boys to clean his classroom after school. He had a
weird paper clip on boys jeans zippers as some sort of "friction"
experiment. He asked my son to wash his car on the weekend for $50 (I
said "no."). He put my son on the varsity basketball team but refused to
play him even tho he attended every practice, per district rules. I
started going to every practice to make sure my son was participating
fully, and to make sure he was never alone with Mr. McP. I thought he
was trying to bargain sexual favors for playing time. Mr. McP phoned me
at home, thinking he could shut me down. I told him outright that I
thought he was a pedophile. I wrote a letter to be put in his district
file, specifying what I thought were inappropriate at best behaviors and
pedophile grooming behaviors at worst. I discussed him with the
principal and other teachers. My son hated me for being a helicopter Mom
where Mr. McP was concerned because all the boys thought Mr. McP was
the best teacher ever. Fast forward three years...Mr. McP was arrested
and convicted for sexually assaulting 11 boys. Two of them were in my
son's group of friends. One of the victim's was a cops son (and
neighbor) and one's parents even testified on his behalf at his trial!
The FBI agent that called me said I was listening to my primal brain and
it was alerting me to protect my son. He said "in our too polite
society we have stopped listening to our primal brain." I asked him if
he called me because he hurt my son (they had troves of evidence but
none involving my son) or saw the letter I thought the principal had
placed in his file. He said he could not confirm or deny seeing any
letter. He said he called me because they were calling all parents of
male students. He then added "parents that wrote a letter would have
been contacted first." I asked where I was on his contact list. He said
"in alphabetical order." That proved the principal did not put my letter
in that pedo's teacher file. Funny, she retired the day after Mr. McP
was arrested. My son apologized to me when he heard of McP's arrest. My
son is now a doctor and father and doing great in life. LISTEN TO YOUR

Parents are shockingly ignorant. They think their child is safe simply because they know their family. They believe they can tell if someone is a paedophile. They can't. My uncle and grandfather are/were paedophiles. Everyone, those inside and outside the family, insisted they were the most responsible, trustworthy etc people. Paedophiles work by appearing this way. Most people are more careful with having their child alone with someone outside of the family. They need to show the same degree of caution with family. Statistics show the abuser is most likely to be a family member.
