I have Parkinson's, and I was in a lot of clinical trials and they all did the cognitive test for baseline. So when the person administering the test would say "I'm going to say five words, see if you can commit them to memory" I used to answer "OK, just as long as you don't say "face, velvet, church, daisy, red". For some reason I'm never able to remember that particular sequence."

Younger people today count not count down by 7. They only know the calculator ha ha

This does NOT test for Alzheimers or dementia !!!! Cognitive test some people are born with cognitive delays drugs and alcohol can change your cognitive ability and so can a stroke or any brain insult. AND your cognitive test or even your IQ can improve

I was never good at counting backwards by 7 to 100. They should choose fives or 10s that’s easier and more people can do it better.

I am 50 and could only think of 15 words that started with F. I recalled four of the words correctly but thought one of them was fairy not fable. The counting backward from 100 minus seven was easy. I thought the Dr would ask what three animals I saw. Lion, Rhino, Camel. Clock and box were easy. So, I feel pretty good.

I am going to ask this question respectfully. I notice this gentleman, in this video, is also in another video. The other video is for the Mini-cog assessment, with the same doctor. Is this patient an actor, DEMONSTRATING assessments?

No way can I count backwards from 100. Using 7. I started smoking pot when we got to the timetables at 7. Lol. And no I could never say the alfabet backwards either. I know I'm smart and have always gotten straight As. In school. This test is harder then it seems.

I am shocked how many of you have trouble counting backwards from 100. You don't have to be a mental math expert to do that.

Read the directions carefully make sure you understand what you're asked to do if it's a true false test look for food watch out for words such as always never often and usually the teacher isn't trying to trick you but those words will influence your answer if it's a multiple choice test weigh your answers carefully Mark the choice that is the best answer it's a question if you have any time left check your answers and make sure you have answered every question to the best of your ability a test is valuable to you and your teacher only when it reflects your knowledge of the material covered it should be a true majority of the subject not your nervousness. I'm only 31, and yet this gentleman with actual literal Alzheimer's easily outperformed me in multiple categories...

My wife could not do 90% of this test. I have no guidance of what to do next all the doctors we have say call here call there but no guidance, this is not easy as most commercials say and most likely we will be skipped to deal with this my self which I am confused how, what? Just extremely stressful for me not knowing.

My goodness, I can barely count backwards by twos!! When he said, "Forget it!" I really felt that lol

I don't understand how he failed these tests. I'm 26 years old and he did better than I could on them, especially the counting backwards from 100. I don't think we fully understand alzhimers or how to diagnose it. This is really the wrong way to do it!
