I of course know about but didn't mention Sony's range of Digital8 Handycams and Video Walkmans which can convert analog Video8 and Hi8 tapes and external analog video sources into digital form via FireWire, because they're far more expensive (both when new and on the used market today), most computers don't have a FireWire port anymore, and that's a topic which deserves its own in-depth video.
ОтветитьCould you rip and upload the drivers and cd-rom because I am losing my ish because I can't find anything online. I just found my old camera and I want to save my videos to my pc. Please if you could =)
ОтветитьI did wonder why these seem desirable on ebay, that explains that 😊👍🏻
ОтветитьWell Spencer is a delight and Merry Christmas from me to him to 😊👍🏻
ОтветитьWhy 29.97 fps if the camcorder is PAL? Strangely, there is no 25 fps in the dropdown, but there is 24 fps.
Regarding capturing via USB, it is possible if the camcorder supports USB 2.0 High Speed UVC, some Digital8 and DV camcorders do, not sure about Hi8.
Looks like the same image quality a Sony CCD-TRV128 has.
ОтветитьReally great video. I picked up a working Panasonic Palmcorder PalmSight (PV-L69) today from the Goodwill and it has a Camera to Serial Port. The date on it is 2001. I have to find a Camera To Serial port cable to test it out. Which will probly be a trip to find.
ОтветитьHi I just found my samsung camcorder which is already 10 years++. Should I buy a new Li-ion battery or should I just charge it? Is it dangerous to use the old battery?
ОтветитьHello! I have a very similar model (without the screen, its the SCW73) but it does not have USB output. I also do not have a battery. However, there is a tape inside and i would like to view it! Do you have any advice? thanks so much!
ОтветитьJust wanting to put this out there that the maxell tapes are actually a darker green in person. On a camera it will sometimes appear black.
ОтветитьMy brother had the non USB version. We tried using it for skateboarding. I still have a few of the hi 8 tapes in a shoes box of footage. Wouldn't be bad ripping them to the computer
ОтветитьARE THERE ALSO DV PLAYERS AVAIBLE; THAT PROVIDE AN OUTPUT TO PC; ...?
ОтветитьMy dad gave me his Samsung vp-l800u which looks near identical to this one only with out svideo and USB
Ответитьi dunno why i found the CD drive with a mind of its own so funny
ОтветитьExcuse my ignorance, but would this be a good option to transfer my old sony tapes using the RCA plugs?
ОтветитьAh! VWestlife's beloved cat 🐈 😻 🐈⬛️ ❤
ОтветитьHi, what drivers did you install? I still can't figure out why the program doesn't work on Windows 11
ОтветитьYou can always run it through Vmware by sending it as a USB device. Also, I'm not 100% certain of this, but..... I think 32-bit windows 10 can accept XP drivers
Ответитьthat cat looked ANNOYED!
ОтветитьSpencer!
ОтветитьI thought you hated unboxing videos
ОтветитьI wish you installed more of that crazy software on the cd. Otherwise cool videos thanks!
ОтветитьWell buy that cam Corder a drink... it is 21 years old
Ответитьback in the day i used a ION Tape 2 Tape player to transfer me cassette tapes and VHS to desktop wish i did not nows, seeing how bad the Quality was from them.
ОтветитьWell I see the struggle STILL exists when it comes to archiving our old minidv/hi8 tapes! I remember years ago using one of those video capture devices on an older laptop to digitize, and it took FOREVER and would often fail at some point when doing so.
Ответить"tapes are my archive". I agree.
Same with my film and DVD recordings I've made off TV etc. My tapes however are aging, thus many have been backed up to DVD or BD-R. I still have a lot more to do.
Please archive the driver CD.
Ответитьthat melody became from sony
ОтветитьTry " Pot Player " Made in Korea .
ОтветитьSpencer the cat is the star here. 😁
ОтветитьIf it has Win XP drivers, it should work on Win10 32bit too. Pity, you were close. Win10 64bit cannot load 32bit drivers unfortunately. Maybe that's why it didn't work.
ОтветитьMy cat passed away last year but I recognise the look. Get out of my personal space
ОтветитьMan the end 👌 is like we back in the 80’s boi
Banging out them tape to tape pirated copies like hot cakes. 😂

ОтветитьIn my case I bought a Canon MV 750i that I used in the 2000's which had an analog passthrough inputting audio stereo and composite video or s-video and outputting DV video which went to the firewire card of an old windows 7 PC, through an old 2003 software called WinDV, I think, very simple software, but excellent results for capturing VHS and even S-VHS, without any frame dropping. I assume that the analog pass circuitry has some sort of TBC implemented, because some VHS tapes I had, which were quite degraded, transferred very well onto DV. If you can find one of this, or similar , and a laptop or PC with win 7 and firewire input , this is the way to go. Forget all this crappy POS USB dongles, I ve used some of them with very bad results.
ОтветитьRIP Spencer. He was a good kitty.
ОтветитьDude, just use a RetroTink 5X.
Analog 525i video converted to 1440p 60p output, captured with a capture card is almost as good as it gets.
Thats the exact camera my mum had in the early 2000s just without the usb, then i got some use of it and its been brilliant to make goofy silly videos, eastern europe was very slow to adapt new tech. Ive looked at the manual allot which showed an option of usb and absolutely drooled over that thought of having it, 15 years down the line, i now know how useless it actually was, thanks!
ОтветитьI had that exact same funai VCR!
ОтветитьI'm floored as to why Samsung even offered the 640x480 option in their software when literally no computer of the time, or even the next several years, could handle transferring it.
ОтветитьA family member has a lot of &? 16? mm cine film, getting it transferred to digital is ridiculously expensive, although the one tape we did do was also cleaned up visually and "processed" as part of the cost.
I'd love to find an easy and cheap way to capture the cine film to a PC,.
The guy in the video looks exactly like the Gigachad meme with glasses 🤣
ОтветитьYou going to VCF this weekend?
ОтветитьFor 64 bit Windows you'll need 64 bit drivers. I doubt Samsung released any.
ОтветитьFor transfering analog formats I use a Dazzle with VirtualDub64, for stuff like MiniDV I bought an internal PCI-e FireWire card. Both have to be done on my Windows 7 machine as I couldn't get these methods to work on my Windows 10 machines.
ОтветитьI found and saved some DV casettes, if only I had anything to use it though._
ОтветитьKevin.. Winbond is a chip (you can look for the datasheet).. all mayor video captures back then have hardware encoder/decoder.. the PC's have not enough power for do it in real time back then..... Miro Video / Pinnacle have their own Zoran chip.. Philips was other.. Winbond is still other common one..... for decoder thouse videos without the hardware you need a compatible decoder software...... we use to use Pegasus Imaging PICVideo M-JPEG for all.... it will decode the video and then you can edited it or convert it to another codec.. like Xvid ........ but actually... Pegasus is excellent for edit in Premiere or VirtualDub..... is 100% compatible... is really fast.... and ULTRA STABLE.... and also almost lossless...... I convert every video to PICVideo Lossless JPEG for work with it in Premiere even today..... I have it registered from where I use to worked....... but today Pegasus is gone.. you can get a pir🏴☠ 🏴☠ate licence version out there 😶🌫 ....
ОтветитьHi8 catcorders rule... Meow!
